Hey all, somewhat new to the forum. I've been looking for a camper shell for my double cab short bed but have found little to none "2nd gen Short bed Tacoma caps", I've found a bunch of other caps including long beds. Wanted to know if anyone else has had any luck with any other caps that aren't manufactured specifically for Tacoma Short beds? And or if anyone could point me in a direction to look (Mainly been looking on Facebook market and Craigslist) Thanks in advance!

Finding a used one was pretty difficult 10+ years ago when I bought my Leer, and if you could find one it probably wasn't the right color. I'd have to think finding one now can't be any easier.

    JDPHOTOS,

I just picked up a used Snugtop on Craigslist this weekend, for $750 bucks. The guy I got it from had the same color truck I did,
and so far its worked out well. He was a really cool dude, he took if off his truck, and helped me put it on my truck. Keep looking online, and you are bound to finally find one, just as I did!

I looked for one for almost a year before I found one close to me that I liked. Getting it painted soon. It’s a waiting game but check it everyday. You may get lucky and find one quicker than you think.

I went to a shady shell dealer on the other side of the city to look at a non-color matched one that was posted on CL, then he did a bait and switch and showed me a color matching Radiant Red Snugtop he had buried in the back of the yard. It was pretty beat up, but I bought it anyway figuring I was still out ahead without having to paint another one, and radiant reds are kinda rare. I think he was glad to be rid of it, haha.

Anyhoo...they're out there. I'd go poke around a shell dealer and see what they've got on the lot, you never know what's buried in the back.
