My battery is on its last leg. Like I need one tonight. I'm a big fan of AGM batteries. But I am having issues finding one. My factory toyota battery is a 27f group number. The only AGM batteries I'm seeing are 24f sizes, this is checking through there computer giving my vehicle specs with autozone, pepboys, and battery systems local shop. The only one I see available is the northstar brand but they are crazy expensive. For the regular style batteries they have 27f easily available just not the agm style.

Anyone else run into this as well? Are the agm batteries just not as common in a 27f?

I see pepboys has a sale right now on a champion agm 24f battery for 150$ should I pull the trigger?

    Any other recommendations?
    Not going Optima route.

You have a 2018 and your battery is about done? Wow

Edit: Never mind, I assumed you had a 2018

If that’s your original battery, you got great service out of it. Mine is still going strong also. I bought my truck dec 2014. So I’m on borrowed time also and have been looking too.

To rich for my blood... I just bought a new brake kit and dont have that extra coin. Super unexpected battery problem, went it to go to work and I got the ru ru ru ru start. Hit my battery with a volt meter and I got crazy voltage drop when I cranked it over. Went to autozone to get it tested and its bad.... autozone wanted 200$ for agm. Held off, I really liked my Duracell battery for for my 4runner but I dont have a Sam's club membership anymore

A few yrs ago I pop the caps on my stock battery and they were low, so I filled them up to the appropriate level with distilled water and put the battery on my ctek smart charger. I continue to do this about every 4 or 5 months. Each time the battery needs a little water in a few cells.
I’m on 5 yrs now with the stock battery and it still reads 12.6 volts in the morning after it sat all night.
I know I need to load test it but I think a little maintenance on these batteries goes a long way.

So if I work my magic I could probably swing the instant internet offer at 25% off and 40$ mail in rebate.

I would hold off if I could, but having kids I dont want to get stuck waiting for a tow truck in the summertime. I just spent 200$ 2 days ago for rotos and pads. And now i need a battery lol.... I'm going to stand on the corner

Took the plunge.... couldn't shop around anymore.

Champion 24f AGM. Came out to 155$ online with core exchange at pepboys. This is including 25% off online discount. Going to try and get the MIR for 40$ off as well :) Comes with a 4 year warranty too.
New member club sign in I will receive a 10$ bonus for the points I earn.

Comparing the 2 the 24f is a little smaller. Construction looks like any other sealed battery.
Fitment was right and its snug as a bug.
Will report down the road for updated review since this is a fairly new product line.

Think I did pretty good but time will tell. Until then keep it real tacomaworld.

My old Toyota battery started to swell it was time.
