Well that was a fun day. Had to pull a sewage grinder pump out of a pit. That necessarily wasn't the bad part, but taking the pulling cable off the pump a strand of the cable poked right through my glove. Naturally this was covered in sewage. Nurse line asked when was the last time you had a tetanus shot. 20 years ago :anonymous:

Guess who got sent to the clinic for a shot? :anonymous:

Kinda is what it is. I normally don't have problems with it, but my sinuses are sensitive right now and the guys had a laugh at me gagging at the smell opening the pit

Old pump sucked up a large piece of plastic and burned out one of the windings in the 480V motor. Rooter company has been out at least once a week for unclogging various sections of bathrooms for a month. Animals that work there apparently. The new $10,000+ bathroom stalls in one bathroom? Destroyed. o_O

Nurse was really good, I didn't even feel it. She lives in the same town I do. We were joking the entire time. Makes the experience much better.

At the way back job we had 2 full time plumbers per shift. One day one of them needed some help and the other guy was off so the building maintenance fellow offered to help.

Mike was a great guy, always the first to lend a hand - but didn't have a very "tolerant" stomach. :puke:

They get to the job and he discovers it is the sewage grinder pump... I guess he thought they were going to install a water heater or something. :notsure:

Well, he is determined to get through it.

They pull the lid off and Andy, the plumber, (a towering giant who had more than a passing resemblance to Dan Haggerty) takes his big flashlight and looks in the pit.

He conversationally turns to Mike and says "Oh, someone had corn for dinner last night".

That was all poor Mike could take - he bolted. :rocket:.

    Leaving Andy saying :notsure:

I did a few upgrades to the Blue Mule, key switch replacing the rocker switch also shown.

A "fuel" gauge, this is just a voltmeter with a different scale, a common 36 volt golf cart/floor scrubber part.

    20250409_170758.jpg

And also this nifty voltmeter so I can interpret the "fuel" gauge better, it was cheap & looks cool too.

    20250409_170808.jpg

I made one more modification not seen, the previous owner/builder was a skilled metal man but not an electrician.

The controls were tapped directly into the 36 volt battery bank with no fuse.

That could have caused an interesting misadventure so I added one.

i just really wish the single cab rangers were built for people taller than 5'.

the way my 6' frame had to fold into it with the creative seat adjustments, would've meant i'd be wearing the truck in any serious accident...
