Boss got a quote from them on retrofitting the old mill, new ball screws, rebuild the ways, retrofit the computer, etc......$17,500

I ask how much did they buy it for in 1995?

He found the receipt, $19749

Awesome, we'll have to check it out. He loves to watch hunting but since we stopped paying for TV, we don't. We used to like to watch BuckVentures with Jeff Danker.

If you're into coyote hunting, The Last Stand is a good one on YouTube. Jeff Niemech (sp?) is a phenomenal shot on running coyotes!

Good morning Shane and crew. Have a great Thursday.

More adventures in plumbing today for me. After re-packing that hot water valve on the washer box the other day, it wouldn’t stop oozing around the stem and from the threads. I couldn’t fit any more packing rope under the bonnet nut and started to wonder if the nut had a hairline crack I was missing. I went to the local Ace hardware with nut in hand to get a new one and also see if they had a fiber washer that may seal it better. The young kid that was trying to help me handed me another pack of packing rope when I explained what I was looking for. I told him no I had already tried that I wanted a nut and a fiber washer. He said they didn’t have those o_O. I asked if he was joking and he just looked at me. How about that time one of the older guys came up and asked if we needed anything and I explained what I was looking for again. He said let’s check, but I don’t think we have any of those. We went to a multi bin and he started opening drawers. They had labels for various washers and plumbing oddities but they were all empty. He told me I needed to go to a plumbing company for stuff like that :annoyed:. That’s the first time my local Ace hardware has let me down.

So I go to a local plumbing company, the owner is a family friend and also the original plumber for my house. Told him what I needed, and what had happened at the hardware store, and he laughed. Said welcome to modern plumbing, we just replace everything now. He then took me in the shop and dug through a box of old, dusty brass fittings, and gave me two new compression boiler valves, a fine and coarse thread because he wasn’t sure what I would have. He said here you can have them I’ll never use them we only use Pex now

The Hunting Beast spends about 55 minutes talking and 3 minutes of actual hunting (and its usually someone else hunting).
The Hunting Public videos are generally less than 30 minutes and they do a decent job of explaining why they're doing what they're doing.

Poll. My perspective is a bit different. Working in municipal recreation my job has me watching sports much more than most people. My job has recently changed so right now I do not watch as many games as in the past but there was a time in which during basketball season I would watch somewhere between 300-500 games, and a small percentage of them I officiated. Add in another 300 or so games a year of various other sports and my interest and response to sporting events was a bit muted. My wife is on the passionate side about most things in life, athletic and comes from a family that makes EVERYTHING competitive. She did not quite know how to take me watching sports and pretty much being non-responsive. My work experience has also given me a different perspective regarding sports, officiating and even event management. Our family tradition recently is going to a NBA G league game on New Year's Eve. I don't clap, cheer or yell and I end up paying attention to how the event is organized, where security is, how the concessions is run, what the officials are doing when the game is not going on, etc. In recent years we go the the in-laws for Superbowl Sunday, have the family gathering and usually we head home at half time. Even when the Patriots were in the Superbowl I typically just watched the game quietly. It takes a lot to get me to say something or to even get a little excited about the game. Professional sports....there is always next year.

It's a ,the bed mill I run is our go to mill, the new one won't be used much (mostly side jobs, don't tell the boss that ). The old one, it's worn out and now doesn't work with the cnc part so it's a glorified drill press, 3 phase :D

I like when people explain what they're doing, and why. Most of the time I don't know what I'm doing, or why
