My Enco is a 3hp 3phase unit, I wired it up to an eBay special VFD, I think it was less than $200. I’ve been running it 2 years with 0 problems.

 

Get yourself a propane forge and cast those back into ingots. You might get more $$$ from the recycling center for bricks instead of loose scrap. I haven't looked into scrapping brass so I'm not 100% sure.

Those American Rotary units are very nice, I think if you had a few pieces equipment they’re a good option but they can be expensive.

 

At first I couldn't see ANYTHING in the pictures except a blank wall and did not know what you were talking about! Then I tilted my iPhone just a bit, squinted my eyes a little and I could just make out dispensers!

 

I bet slate and I bet purchased blanks off from Amazon. If I am right do I win anything?

We did find a place, put an offer in on it yesterday with a contingency on selling ours

 

Yeah, it was a little pricy. Around $2200 for the phase converter and another $1000 for sub-panel, wiring, conduit, and misc.

I'm using an ebay VFD in my shed for my small 3hp cnc router. But this new machine is too much of an investment to trust an ebay VFD.

 

That is more in my price range

I wouldn't be using it much like @phillstill does his and it wouldn't be more than one thing on it. My buddy has one in his small shop, I'm gonna see what he has as well.

I was looking at this milling machine my boss wants to get rid of this morning while cleaning my EDC and got to thinking, he's wanting a pistol and keeps saying he doesn't have the money, I may have an extra one for trade

 

What does VFD stand for?

 

Surprised at some of them on the list. Captain Beefheart, Funkadelic, Parliment. Those are some rare ones, ironically I've heard them.

Variable frequency drive. Controls speed by adjusting HZ, or hertz.

 

They've been around for a while but started making scopes not too long ago. It has a lifetime warranty so I figured I'd try it for $119
