Shooting area near Glendale.

Just moved back to Arizona I'm living in the Glendale near the Cardinals stadium can anybody give me an idea of where to go shooting at in this area I thought there was some place up North but I can't remember now.

 

Shooters World in Peoria is probably going to be closest to you.

Table Mesa is a popular BLM shooting area for future reference. Can’t shoot out there through the summer due to fire restrictions of course.

Maryvale is very popular, especially on the weekends.

 

Head up to Ben Avery. Please dont be one of those Ya Who’s shooting up the desert. Brass lying about, litter from junk used for targets. And just who or what is down range out in the desert? There is also a range just across the Gila River south of Buckeye.

 

Funny I looked it up. Bad neighbor I guess. Now I'm going to have to go check it out.

 

Also just moved to Glendale. Lots of great places outside of the city to check out.

Avoid Shooter's World in my opinion, they are very overpriced and trashy. I personally go to Scottsdale gun club. Anyone that wants to check it out, you are welcome to come with me as a guest. Very laid back and classy environment.

The area south of the city that was mentioned is Phoenix Rod and Gun club. It's a private club you have to apply to use, though the do have public hours on the weekends. In Range TV uses their facilities often.

Aside from that, there are many places you can explore with about a 30min drive outside the city. I enjoy going of into BLM land to explore old mining camps and abandoned mining operations. There are several off the 10 on the way to Quartzsite. You can park on an old mill or bunkhouse foundation, throw up a canopy, and shoot steel targets you setup down below for hours.

 

Hell yea, shit goes down in Murdavale. Still nicer than the place I used to live in CA.

 

Thanks that's super helpful I'd like to get together sometime and go out shooting. I'm retired army and taught weapons safety and marksmanship. Nothing special just a basic s*** to a bunch of reservists. But I do know how to handle a gun and be safe. Working a remodel project on the house we just bought here so it'll be another month or two before I make it out
