This morning, I accidentally (not thinking) changed from 4H to 2H without depressing the clutch and I heard a "clunk" noise. Is there anything to be concerned about? Did I damage anything?

Its shift on the fly. You dont need to push the clutch in. ONLY when going from 4H to 4L do you need to put the clutch in.

What about in an auto where there is no clutch? Just as long as you're not on the accelerator right?
