    Hi All,

I've been reading this site for a few years while looking for a Tacoma. Last weekend I took home a 2017 4X4 Double Cab short bed TRD off road with the 6 speed manual (Quicksand color). Love this truck and I have a lot of plans for it but one thing bothers me. The shifter feels too low. Is there a shifter extension available for the 3rd gen trucks? I've seen them for the older models. Any help would be appreciated.

Any shifter extension will work, just be prepared for longer throws.

The URD short shift adapter will raise the shifter up about an inch while giving you a shorter throw.

I thought of that but I'm not a fan of the two piece design. I know many have had no issue with them but it seems like it's creating a weak point where one currently doesn't exist. I don't mind a longer throw (I drove 18 wheelers for years) so I was thinking of a simple screw on extension about 2 inches long.

extensions are hard to find that are the right length . mine is ok, about 1/2 to 1" too tall, but still great for me. longer and shorter ones are easy to find. this one's 3". i was considering asking trailbreaker (however his name is spelled) to do a long arm custom knob since I'm getting a collection now. just haven't gotten to it yet. I'm happy with this setup (urd ss on a 670g custom knob), but I'd like to have a slightly smaller ball and about 150-200g less now that everything's well broken in.
