Sheared off a bolt while installing Lomax, any idea what I should do?

I’m not particularly handy but was I talking my Lomax Trifold on my 23 limited, and the Tacoma rear bolt sheared off somehow. Not sure how, as I wasn’t actively torquing it. Anyway, I’ve got half a bolt stuck in the thread and not sure how to proceed. I suppose it might be simplest to take it to any mechanic and they could figure it out but I thought I might see if there was anything reasonably simple I could do. I know they sell screw/bolt remover kits. Also, what replacement bolt would I need? One of the pics is from a YouTube video to demonstrate where it happened. Thanks

Try hitting it with a punch to give yourself a good divot as close to the center as possible, then a smaller diameter drill bit, then reverse drill bit. If you have a small micro-torch, and can heat and cool the shaft if that bolt a few times it may help.

I had the same thing happen when removing all the bed hardware on my brand-new-off-the-lot '22 last fall to anti-sieze everything (rust belt headache prevention). Had one that lost its head just like yours with very little effort. Not sure if it was overtightened and stretch on install, or just crappy hardware.

The bolt broke under tension due to overtightening, so it should spin right out. I'd pick up this cheapo pack of left hand drill bits at harbor freight Center punch the bolt (as close to center as possible...you can correct an offcenter punch mark as you start drilling)...it'll spin right out.

All the little easy stuff. Locking console box, led interior lights, bed lights, gas cap holder, wide angle split mirrors, sequential mirror lights,
There is almost an art on pulling broken bolts. Where do you live? I am in Portland Oregon. If you are nearby I would be happy to extract it for you (free).

I will say the lighting exaggerates the dryness of my hands in the pic. Looks like my hands aged a few decades!

Thanks, but unfortunately for me, I’m about 2000 miles away right now.

Thanks all for the advice. I picked up an Irwin Hanson screw extractor set from Ace and managed to get it out!
