Shallow mount subwoofer

Nothing huh? Did i ask wromg or not poast it right?
....Last thing I need to do is pick out a sub. I'm kinda stuck between a couple and hoping you guys might shine some light on it.... need a shallow mount 10" sub. I got a box tat will fit behind my back seat.
There aew 2 Pioneers, TS-A2500LS4 & TS-D10LS2.

How big is the box? I’ve seen them from .6cuft to 1 cuft. That will help dictate what is recommended.

 

The RF's arent that great. I switched to sundown sd-4's. Much better.

 

Love my SD. JLs ain't bad either.

 

JLs are too rich for my blood, lol. Sundown hit the sweet spot.

Been going on 4 or so years now

 

I should have held out for those, but they were 500 bucks a piece at the time! I am an RF man.

 

These little RF 8" ported subs sound a lot bigger than their size. Under $300 for the sub, amp and box too.

I have the JL Stealthbox. It's clean, but not window shaking bass.

 

Damn!! Got all rf power in the truck both amps, all components and processor with the stock head unit

 

I love cranking my metal up and blowing people away

 

It becomes an addiction at a certain point.

 

I like my music loud too.

I paired it with Focal RSE-165 fronts, RCX-165 rears and kicker key 200.4/500.1 amps.

If I were to do it again I would do 6x9's in the front doors or possibly 3 way components up front with a bigger amp. The key's dsp cleans up a ton, but the factory head unit is still choking the system.

Does Focal make a component 6x9? I used to run RF components up front but the damn tweeters were so shrill I couldnt take it. So I picked up some Morel 6x9 comps with silk tweets. They barely fit the front doors, but they helped me keep my sanity(and hearing).

Have you looked into audio frog? Seriously good speakers for a good price. I’ve built last couple systems with them and they sing.

 

They do on their cheaper lines. Focal's are very bright. Those Morel 6x9s are popular from what I've read.

CDT audio makes several 2 way and 3 way sets with 6x9 subs too.

 

I am very happy with the Morels.
