All vehicles coming from the mainland with Full Entune systems are finding out that Entune works in Hawaii.

SERVCO purposely orders their vehicles without this capability (which saves them thousands on each vehicle) but does not disclose this or offer a discount to the consumer.

When I contacted mainland Toyota about adding Entune as an afterthought, I was told by corporate that Hawaii vehicles are not entered into the National Database therefore will never be Entune capatable.

You may get a few apps to work however, satellite linked navigation, trafffic updates, and satellite radio will never work in Hawaii purchased Toyota’s.

    SERVCO can suck it!

I see your frustration.. I wish I had Entune as well, my wifes RAV has it, we bought it in Florida, but on the other hand I had no problems with both Servco Honolulu or Windward. Windward incorporated all the TSBs I went to them with.. no questions asked.

Servco pretty much has any 808 person that wants to purchase a toyota by the balls.

The thing about scheduling appointments is a a huge PITA as well. I just made my 15K service appointment for late January. I am fortunate that my employer is flexible with my time and I dont have kids. Many toyota owners dont have that kind of freedom when it comes to scheduling.

I hate it that servco is a monopoly and their "I don't care if you don't buy because someone else will attitude." Think that's part of the reason I have been dragging my feet over purchasing a taco. But good to know

Are you new to Hawaii or new to Toyota? It has to be one or the other because Servco has always sucked.

Well you are lucky. The mapunapuna servco guy didn't pressure me into buying but didn't work with me on anything. If not price, throw me some kind of incentive :) He just kept trying to justify a taco for my lifestyle

I went to the Waipahu one and the guy said he can work on the price(i don't think so) but he didn't try to sell me on the taco. He just made me drive it and then basically said ok buy or order today. When I told him I was going to think about it, I have never been kicked out of the door so fast before. Not even a courtesy walk out but here's your shit and go you've wasted my time attitude

Don’t know if Big Island Toyota is part of servco but the service there is great. Called on a Monday and was offered multiple dates and times to fit my schedule. Two days later got it serviced.

The thing is, you can't drive 3 miles on Oahu without counting 30 Tacomas, on top of all the other Toyota models... no wonder it's so hard to get an appointment..

Servco is just the distributors to the outter island Toyota’s. Servco orders all the vehicles.

That’s because - for some reason that I do not understand - Toyota Hawaii is treated as a completely separate business entity from the mainland.

Maybe because it's in the middle of the Pacific ocean 2000mi from the mainland of the US? They probably save a ton on shipping by ordering direct from Tokyo.

That’s not how it works, especially for the US-made models.

No it’s far worse. Hawaii dealers won’t honor warranties from the mainland and vice versa. That’s led to a lot of upset servicemembers. Ask me how I know :)

no its the same, if you buy a ext. warranty from GST/SET its not honored by Toyota usa if I am correct since they have there own financial service that is NOT tied to Toyota financial.

Toyota financial is who backs the Toyota usa ext. warranty.

So I'm even more pissed. Took delivery 18JAN18 from Servco a 17 DCSB TRD 4X4 OR with tech pgk and entune wouldnt scan during registration and I decided to move onto Toyota owners registration. Lots of issues here:
-No Hawaii service center or working Hawaii zip codes (ended up assigning my San Jose zip instead being my last place of residency for a service center)
-my VIN is listed as an SR5 which when I called entune customer service, the lady there told me I do not have a TRD OR or my VIN I provided her was wrong and for me to read the VIN again slowly, as I could've transposed it while giving it to her
-head unit software is locked from any forms of capable updates and features
-I've basically been like ALL persons who has purchased a vehicle in Hawaii been scammed into purchasing a falsely advertised product. As on paper it clearly states TRD OR not an SR5 and keep in mind, my insurance also reflects TRD OR provided by me when asked what trim level, not sure if there's any price differences. *note insurance is not a problem in premium as I've been with Geico for a long time
-I have referred 6 other friends and they also bought their Taco's at Servco and I dont think they are aware of what I just learned about our shady purchase
-while waiting for my truck since 05JAN18 when it was initially purchased, I had rented 4 different 2017 makes Explorer, Maxima, Pacifica, Enclave. All with working tech/premium features that worked from the head unit! Also I guess the last renter had registred xm radio in the Maxima and it worked on Oahu. So Toyota or Servco must be clueless about signal connectivity cause the factory gps is also part of the same satellites used
We Toyota customers deserve access to what we earnestly paid for based on product reliability and reputation of a well built product! And not to be taken advantage of with inaccurate or non working products paid for through the means of lacking visible notification during contract/ownership signing.
Or... could we have a possible undermining and price profiting of new and used Hawaii Toyota vehicles going on here? Remember I am just 1 of the many so called TRD's on Hawaii's roads who actually are in the database driving SR5's thats 23K and that pricing is mosdef not what any of us in theory paid.
Heres my thoughts as undoubtedly coincidental!

    Out of curiosity!
What does you truck show up as in Toyota AZ database?
I am seeing a SCANDAL being committed at our undermined expense! Hawaii purchased 17 SCSB TACO TRD 4X4 OR on Servco Hawaii Monroney sticker or window sticker is a label required in the United States to be displayed in all new automobiles and includes the listing of certain official information about the car.
But not so with Toyota USA! It is an SR5.
kind of curious if yours is what it is.
