my 94 year old neighbor. i keep an eye out on her and bring her dinners. she luckily thinks i am a badass cook. hahah..

anyways, she called me the other night and said she doesnt feel well. she is sweating profusely. i have her house key and we made entry. my wife and i took one look and called 911. she was pooring sweat and had all types of issues.

long story short, she is in the hospital and i am taking care of her cat. i have a cat and our litter box is in the distant confines of our garage. cat pokes thru dog door. my neighbors cat box is front and center. i tried to clean it and the cat pee clumps just poored thru the scoop like a sieve. the smell knocked me back. it was so ammonia heavy!! eff that!! i went home got a garbage bag, dumped her entire box and filled it with our own litter. i aired out her home. FUCK!! her home is spotless. anal almost. but there is no denying she has a cat. my wife said it was non-clumping cat litter. what sadistic maniac invented that stuff? is it a full dump and replace kind? if my neighbor passes, my wife and i pinkie swore we do not take her cat. i am a "this is the last cat" type of person.

PSA. a woman heart-attack looks nothing like a male's heart attack. she didnt even have chest pains. i listened to the Rosanne Barr interview where she described her, and i reconized this one right away.

    watch out for the ladies.

We use a "non-clumping" type of cat litter called "Breeze". It works great, no smell at all.

Not sure what kind you are referring to. But yeah, some don't work good at all.

I used to buy what I thought was the "best" (and of course usually more expensive) litter from PetSmart/PetCo, but the ammonia smell was ALWAYS there when I emptied my cats litter box. Fast forward a couple weeks, and I needed to buy more but they were out. As a last resort, I bought some Tidy Cat 4 in 1 from Dollar General in a pinch. It is actually amazing and now my go-to. Everything clumps up so it's easy to scoop and there is literally almost no smell when I have to clean it out. It's also about half the price of w/e I was buying before.

Some auto-empty boxes require non clumping to work properly. Ours has a little electronic rake to sweep the turds to a collection bin.

    On a traditional box - I don't know. It's cheap. :notsure:

I always figured the cheap non-clump stuff was for people that just toss the litter entirely and replace every day or so. If you're scooping you gotta have the clumping kind
