Is it possible to remove the SEMA TRD wheel caps without taking off a lug nut? Can they be popped off just with a flat head screwdriver?

I did a quick interwebs search and did not find any information on what to use to actually pop them off.

    TIA!

Nope it locks in and if you try to pry it out you will probably ruin it.

Are these the same wheels on 2016 4Runner Pros?
    These? https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-17-trd-wheel-shown-at-sema.247029/

If so, I have experience taking them off my buddies wheels. They have a small slot just above the lug nuts. There are only 1-2 slots, so not all of the lug nut recesses have them. I stuck in a piece of plastic (really easy to scratch the matte black) and was able to work it loose.
The "lock" that is securing these caps on is actually just a retaining ring, but not of the normal sort. More like an elastic ring that can expand easily.
    Hope this helps.

Edit: also, replacements aren't that much if you mess up... https://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-10933

I'll also try to grab pics when I get off work.

    Here they are:
First pic shows the slots on the center cap. Only two slots per cap. They're on opposite sides of the cap, which makes me think they're intended for removal purposes. IMG_1807.jpg
I used a flathead screwdriver this time, but have also done it with a wooden chopstick. After removing the cap, I didn't notice any scuffs left by the metal screwdriver, but I was being super careful and slow (like I said, this is my buddy's truck, used with permission of course).IMG_1809.jpg
I lifted one side of the cap using the nut as a fulcrum. I held it in this semi-removed position with one hand while I moved the screwdriver to the other slot.IMG_1810.jpg
After leveraging the cap using the second slot, there was a good 3mm of separation all around the cap. I was able to use my two hands to finish removal. Try to pull straight out. IMG_1811.jpg
Here's a view of that "lock" on the underside of the cap. I have an OR Taco and the wheel caps do not use a ring like this, just plastic tabs. IMG_1812.jpg
When putting the cap back on, it is significantly easier and feels much better if you try to keep the cap straight while pushing it on.

Edit: sorry I'm not sorry for the dirt

I've popped all 4 of mine off twice now. By hand, simply lined them back up, clicked the "top half" in and then a quick light tap with the side of my fist and they go back in.

Minor issue on the lug nuts I bought for them
