I'm going to be ordering a set of the Pro 16" wheels and have a question about the center caps. Besides the center caps will I need anything else? In other words how do the center caps attach to the wheels? Is there a ring that they snap onto?
    I'm replacing SR steel wheels.
    TIA and Happy Thanksgiving!!

It depends on what off-brand repro wheels you get. The set of wheels I bought are similar to the OEM TRD Pro wheels with the center cap having a spring wire ring, but they are not the same size and not as good quality. With that said the caps are still decent and the wheels overall are great for the price I paid.

My biggest issue is the center caps have an index tab to keep from rotating, and every time a shop rotates my tires they slap the center caps on, misaligning the cap and it’s clearly not fully seated. I bought a couple spare caps from the eBay seller just in case.

Also get black Toyota lug nuts. Black nuts are nicer

Do they not come with the center caps? I have replica 4Runner Pro wheels and they came with them and were pre-installed. They just clip on.

OEM wheels are ala carte purchase. No caps.

I got Toyota wheels and center caps from the dealer. I should be good to go then?

Interesting. Kinda odd my local dealer who advertises TRD wheels gives options to add lug nuts and TPMS to wheels but no reference to center caps.

Ok, something as simple as center caps has me stumped. I picked up my 16" TRD Pro wheels and center caps today. I see the clips on the center caps and where they snap onto on the wheel but the cap does not "snap" onto anything, it just sits loose in the center of the wheel. Is there a difference between 17 and 16 inch center caps? I'm thinking I got the wrong center caps

Wrong caps, those look like the ones for the 17" SEMA wheels.
The 16" Tacoma Pro caps have flutes that align with the spokes on the wheel.

Also because no one else mentioned it, coming from an SR with steel wheels, you need lug nuts for alloy wheels. (Not a cosmetic thing, different style of lug nut) you might also need new TPMS sensors depending on the shop you have install the wheels.
