Hello, new to the forum. Heard about this site from another Tacoma enthusiast. I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma with access cab. The bed dimensions are: 77" long and 61" wide. I have had the hardest time finding a camper shell and was wondering if anyone had suggestions. I have even considered a soft top but feel like it would be a much better investment to go fiberglass. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Welcome. I'm also pretty new to the forum. When I got my 98 access cab last year, I also knew I wanted a hard shell for the back so I could sleep in it while camping. There were a few available on Facebook marketplace but I kept looking for about a month to find a good deal (under $200). I finally found one in St. Louis so I drove the 4 hours from Kansas City to pick it up and have been happy with the purchase. You can really only choose to be picky on color, brand, or price, but not all three. Expect to have to replace struts, brake lamp, and/or weather stripping.

I also found a camper on Fb marketplace, just find what type you like, and wait for it too pop up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js1JVOMmwU0&vl=en - link too a video of possible other options and what they will look like

I'm pretty sure a reg cab camper will fit, but it will have an additional space between the shell and cab. an exteneded cab camper is the way to go. if you looking for a flush and clean look

So, should I get rid of it and look for another or ignore the gap?

I would disagree, it looks fine. It's a 16 year old truck so not everything is going to be matchy-matchy all the time. If it bothers you and you can afford it, keep your eyes open for a shell designed for your truck then sell your current one. Otherwise, just use it and enjoy it, that's what old trucks are for.

I just picked this up today in SoCal for $150. Carpeted interior, full screens, and sliding front window. The clearcoat is gone, but I'm going to paint it anyway. I found it on the offer up app. I think I need to put my overload leaf back in to bring the back up to level. I'm not a fan of the sag.

    OME and worth every penny.
Looks good to me. If one comes up fine but I wouldn't get rid of something that works for more searching as you may never find another.
