Hey guys, unfortunately I was involved in an accident and had my truck at the body repair shop for about a month. When I got it back the horn was honking every time I locked/unlocked the truck which was driving me crazy. I searched the previous thread but all the methods didn’t seem to work for the 3rd gen keyless system from the 2nd gen and just wanted to share what I learned. Even though the procedure was mostly the same there was one key difference.

to turn on/ off the honking:

get in the seat and leave the door open.

press the power button with the foot off the break twice to cycle through “accessory” and “on”.

Acc is basically radio, on is radio and A/C if you didn’t know.

Then press the “valet” button 3 times on your security system installed under the dash on your left side of the foot well that is blinking a light when the system is activated. It works better if you count out one…two…three… Then you should hear a double honk letting you know it changed.

My problem was that I wasn’t leaving the door open. For “Pursuit” systems, that is what is required.

For “Karr” systems the procedure is pretty much the same but the door needs to be shut.

Thanks for this thread. 6 month thread revival lol I have the KARR system. Do you happen to know what it means if it honks three times?
