Trying to figure a way to securely store my .22 in the cab. The drop in vault that goes under the rear seats looks awesome, but the driveshaft hump looks like a deal breaker. My rifle is scoped and the Boyd's stock is pretty wide as well. Anyone have any suggestions? Only caveat is it has to be metal and lockable.

Edit to add a picture of the gun

I’m assuming you have a double cab, tbh I don’t think there’s anything on the market that exists that meets your requirements. I looked pretty seriously. That said the people on here never fail to amaze me with items i don’t know exist. So consider me sub’d to this thread incase something is out there and I missed it.

Lots of lockable options, ESP, Lockerdown, Tuffy, all for Tacos but nothing that’ll hide/ hold a full size rifle. Good luck!!

That is pretty slick but no good for my application. I really want it to be out of sight and a better use of space , which is getting tight with the wife in front and 2 dogs in the back.

I know they have some rear seat storage solutions. If you get a molle panel that goes behind both of the rear seats you can mount it behind the seat backs and secure it to the child seat anchors or something.

That is pretty slick, but it looks like it would not allow for the height of my gun+scope.

    Just curious, why that .22?

Seems the perfect excuse for a "truck gun" build.

Like ohhhh....I dunno....something pistola sized maybe.

I just store my shotgun behind the rear headrests with them flipped backwards. Not worried about theft in the boonies

Not to be political but it’s wild how the police gets really cool gear compared to the actual military. When I was deployed we got around in bullet proof Toyota land cruisers. M4 in lap. I wasn’t infantry so whenever we got shot at we would just drive faster and let the f250 behind us with the turret handle it. Maybe infantry gets cool gear.

Yeah. When I went to Iraq in 05, I was in an airborne unit and we got hillbilly armor. Just steel plates as doors and sandbags on the floor. No bullet proof windows or anything. Eventually we got uparmored humvees just about as we were leaving.

When I was in a SF unit, we got bulletproof hiluxes with sopmodII m4s in our lap as well. Not a lot of space in those things with all the armor inside the cab when you're in full kit. We also had a bulletproof excursion we took the US ambassador around in, and of course that broke down at the first stop we made in a convoy. Couldn't get it running, so we shuffled everyone around and I had a total of 9 stars worth of Filipino generals in my hilux. Fun times.

Man this brings back memories!! Well done. Haha. I wasn’t doing anything really cool but we did drive around Kabul and it’s outskirts almost daily. Full gear as well. I am all too familiar with our “fleet” of armored hilux and Chevy suburbans. It really is funny how humbling it is to have a 2 star break a sweat when we take on IDF in these small trucks. Like yeah dude I know it’s sketchy but for some reason “this” is all we have at our compound. It’s always the wing units that have better funding and better gear.
