Anyone have a good recommendation on a Seattle powder coating place they can recommend that does a good job and doesn't over charge?
I'm looking at a bumper, and would be easier to have it shipped and coated there.
I googled and found a few possible places, but interested if the forums have any recommended spots.

    Thanks.

Do you want cheap or do you want good? If you want good you will have to pay for it, but the place Mule Expedition and Toyota of Bellevue uses is Powder Vision in Issaquah WA. They do all the prep, sand blast, phosphate wash etc, but they don't come cheap. I got my C4 front and rear swing out coated there and they turn around items fast!

Not sure how far you want to travel, but there's a company in Sequim call Blackdog Powder Coating that does great work.

Given the $20 ferry ride probably not that far but I have family in PA and Beaver, so it isn’t out of the question

Expensive doesn’t always equal good. Is that a C4 Fab bumper set you put on?

I talked to them about doing an FJ40 frame. It was pricy, but I have been planning to use them. I didn’t know they did work for Mule and Michaels.

The owner was very responsive to my questions, which is always a plus for me.

You get what I’m saying. I’m pretty sure Mule and Toyota of Bellevue wouldn’t send their powder coat work out to them if it wasn’t quality for the price too. What do you mean by is that a C4 bumper set I put on?

Yup I too was looking around and got quotes all over the board. I wanted it prepped correctly so I don’t have to keep getting it redone with our PNW weather. Mule and Michaels recommended Powder Vision to me and JR the owner is super responsive and super meticulous in his work.

I've used powder coating inc in Everett for a few different projects in the past. always had great service from them, they do outsource there blasting though which does normally add a day or two but there turnaround has normally been within a week or so as long as they have the powder on hand.

A construction equipment manufacturing company I used to work used American Powder Coating in Auburn, I've personally used them for wheels on an old datsun and a 22r valve cover. They do great work and cut me an awesome deal

There's also a place literally called Seattle Powdercoat. I had them do some boat seat frames for me and they came out great

Well I pick up my bumper tomorrow from Powder Vision and wow it is super expensive compared to what I thought it would cost. I really don't know what the price range is, and obviously a lot of time you get what you pay for. They are charging me $450 to powdercoat my bumper, which is like 1/2 what I paid for the bumper itself shipped from CO to WA. Its a big bumper and has some plates that need to be coated. They also blasted it, and as far as I know they have done a great job/labor intensive work.

So I'm not dissing them at all, and I again this is the first thing I've ever had powder coated so I don't know what normal prices are. Very nice people, but I think this has to be on the high end of price for coating services. A little bummed as I thought it was going to be in the $300 dollar range, but whats done is done and nothing I can do but pay and move on. I hope the quality of the job makes it worth it in the end.

Agreed they are on the higher side for PC but they do all the proper prep so your not pulling it off for powder coat prematurely due to improper prep!
