Hello everyone. New to the NW specific forum. I'm in the process of buying a Fox suspension kit for my 2018 TRD Sport and am in need of suggestions for a shop to do the install. I'm in Kirkland and am looking for a shop that folks trust in the Seattle area.

    Thanks

I've had work done by Mule Outfitters in Issaquah and The Shop (Michael's Toyota of Bellevue's aftermarket install guys). Both have done good work for me.
Last I talked to Mule they won't install parts that people bring in, but The Shop will. Not sure if that's still the current thing at Mule?
The nice thing about the shop was that they have loaners for free. I brought them some UCA's I picked up and they had no issue with the install.
They were a bit more expensive than Mule if i recall. Hope this helps.

I bought the truck from Michael's Toyota and have a warranty so that's where i've been going. However i've been curious to find a better long-term solution, especially since the truck keeps getting further and further away from stock. I had no idea about The Shop. Thanks for the tip!

You bet. Last time I just pm'd @TheToyotaGarage and he hooked me up with quotes, etc. Nice and easy to drop it off at the service department.
I'm far from stock and they had no problems with working on my rig.

They have no problem with highly modified vehicles. Great shop

I'm also in Kirkland. I second both these recommendations, I've had work done at both. Although Michael's couldn't get the truck aligned properly with my SPC UCAs (even though I did the UCA cam alignment) which is when I went looking for a more specialty shop and used Mule. They got in nailed on the first attempt.

I suggest you do it yourself with the help of some friendly locals. Use the cash you save from the install and buy another mod. If everything comes assembled (strut and spring) that job would only take about 2 hours. Pretty easy stuff.

Are you doing front coils (already assembled) and rear shocks/leafs?
Will you be doing UCA or ECGS bushing?

I’ve contacted a few shops in the area and the quotes for labor/parts seems to be in-line with one another. I think I’m going to do mine myself, only thing that will be unfamiliar territory for me is the ECGS bushing.

I’ve got the tool coming. Maybe I’ll try to put together one of those DIY days with a few TW members to get this down. I’ve watched the install video and still not clear on 1. which way the ECGS bearing goes into the carrier and 2. Hammering in the new ECGS bushing 3. Topping off the gear oil...and prolly a few other things.

I was looking for front/rear shocks, leaf, UCA and ECGS bearing so, about $1k not including parts, so it breaks down to about:
    • 6 hours labor at around $125/hr.
    • Alignment $100-$150
    • Tax

Do you just straight up contact the normal Michael's service department to schedule with "The Shop"? I don't trust myself to bleed my clutch properly when installing my clutch accumulator delete, and Mule quoted me the "no customer parts" policy.

I’ve done all my work thru Monroe and his team and they are legit. Used them for several mods For my taco and they make it super easy. I’d recommend them to anyone
