Anybody ever had their seatbelt light/chime randomly start going off as you're driving down the road... then go back off?

I was doing 60ish down the road yesterday and suddenly my truck starts beeping, and the seatbelt light in the instrument cluster starts illuminating. I think it might have been for the passenger seatbelt, because the light in the center of the dash above the climate controls came on too. (There was maybe 5 lbs of stuff in the passenger seat.)

Anyway, before I noticed the passenger seatbelt light on, I unplugged my seatbelt and plugged it back in just to see if I could reset it somehow, but that just made the dinging got worse and more rapid even after I plugged back in. I was about to pull over and turn the truck off/on and suddenly all the warnings stopped and went back to normal. If it happens again I'm going to take a trip to the dealer, but just wondering if anyone else has had this; couldn't find any previous posts on it.

It's from the weight in the passenger seat, probably just on the threshold and you hit a bump or something. Either fasten the seat belt or turn off the chime with Carista or techstream.

Yes. I had some stuff on the passenger seat. I reckon the weight was enough to trigger the SB alarm.

Yeah, I guess you guys are right, I just didn't think the truck had such a hair trigger on the passenger seat. That sensor tripping with anything under 50 lbs seems ludicrous to me, let alone under 10 pounds. I mean, damn, it'd be one thing if I had a big bag of dog food sitting on the seat or something, but it was a nalgene and a baseball hat lol.

Ah well. I think I'm still under the free month of Carista, so that's getting disabled.
