soo I have a 2016 TRD OR DCSB. I love the truck it does what i want, gets me to and from work in any weather, and I go out in the woods with it on my days off and can generaly get around to wherever I can make it fit.

my one problem that I have not found a solution to yet is this... I'm 6'2" tall 240lbs

I fit fine in the seat however I find that the set seat height is a bit too tall.. and short of pulling a sawzall and cutting the factory brackets, and making some god awful looking bracket that drops my seat down 1/2"-3/4" ) which would be ideal

is there another solution out there? do the 2020/2021 seats drop down further than my 2016 seat?

I believe the power seat that started in 2020 has a 1/2" of downward travel, but no idea how hard it would be to adapt to a 2016.

In 2020 Toyota added a vertical height adjustment to the driver's seat. The seat should drop into place, it is a power base though. And I bet expensive. I believe it gives an inch of travel. There are also brackets that I have seen on here that lifts the front of the seat ( also the rear if I remember correctly) apparently the front lift makes the seat more comfortable for taller drivers.

I bought my wife a 2017 4Runner, and in her Sr5 she has the power adjustable seat.. would love to have that in my tacoma.. but simply dropping the seat 1/2"-3/4" would make me happy...

Done a bit of searching, perhaps my words are off, does anyone have a link? I would love to toss a lower seat into my 2017. Driving a 2020 the other week made a HUGE difference.

I think the seat is high AF and I'm only 5'4", can't imagine what it must be like for you taller peoples. I have yet to sell my Jeep yet and I'll jump in it every other week (to keep the battery - I should just throw a tender on it) and it feels weird having a full view. In the Taco the rear view mirror is in my way sometimes.

I couldn't believe the difference i saw in a 2020 with lowered seat, it was night and day for me. Both mine and the 2020 i drove had sunroofs, the roof looked the same (with the bulge). Would honestly pay close to $1k for just the drivers seat. That's the difference it made for me. Hopefully we can find out if its possible to swap.

Go to the dealership and try out a newer model with adjustable seat and see if it's something you really want and/or need.

I have the sunroof as well (it was one of my must haves on a truck). If a one-to-one swap can be done with just the driver's seat for a power seat I'd be buying that yesterday.

I'm 6'-3". Test drove a 2019 prior to buying mine and my knees were molesting the steering wheel. The power seat in the '20-21 is a must have for me - odds are I wouldn't have bought a Tacoma without it. Definitely worth the investment if you can make it work but to @ST77's point, go in and see for yourself.

Exactly, if I wasn't so short the power seat would have been a requirement for me. Lucky(?) me I guess.

If i didn't have so much time, energy, money poured into mine i would get one with the lowered seats in a heartbeat. Couldn't believe what a difference it made, its literally the only reason i considered and briefly window shopped. Time to call the dealer i think, see if seats are swappable.

I’m 6’4” tall and 315# (linebacker build, not just super fatass), and just bought the 2021 Saturday. After all the posts and warnings about tall guys in a Tacoma I’m surprised how well I fit with the power seat adjusted. I do wish the steering wheel had a little more travel both up and out, but that is minor.

I’m 6’3” with long legs. Got a 2020 because the power seat was a must for me, too. After driving it a bit, I also added the spacers to the front to get even more upward travel at the front of the seat to support my thighs. It’s comfy now. If only the steering wheel would extend another 2 or 3 inches, it’d be perfect.

New guy here. I'm 5'4" also. I'm picking up my 2016 TRD tomorrow and am already looking at ways to raise the seat about an inch. I agree about the mirror placement but I think it's something I'll get used to eventually. I hope...
