Has anyone done this? Curious to hear how this was done. under the cover? inside the seat? Im wondering if I just put it under the cover/on top of the seat if it would move around or cause discomfort. Appreciate your input if you have anlready took the plunge with this!

I got the heater for my wife's seat and the lumbar support for my side. They fit between the cover and the seat. My wife doesn't ride with me much, so the heater seldom gets used. I love the lumbar support . The heater comes with a 12 volt plug and a switch, but alot of people hard wire it and put a switch on the dash.

Wet Okole sells carbon fiber heaters that go between the covers and the seat. I've thought about adding them to mine but the neoprene is generally warm enough.

    From their website:
Carbon Fiber Seat Heaters Slipping right over your existing car seats, our heated custom seat covers are the quick and easy way to affordably add the luxury of heated seats with a custom built-in look. Parallel heating fibers ensure long life and dependability. With conventional seat heaters, any abuse that breaks the heating wire shuts off the entire heater; the same abuse with our carbon fiber seat heaters would only render a small portion of our heater inoperative so the driver will still be cozy and warm. Ultra thin carbon fibers mean no bulky and uncomfortable wires. Other than the soothing warmth there's nothing to make the driver or passenger think their seats are out of the ordinary!

I have them! They are wonderful and you can't tell they are there until turned on. There is 2 settings High and Low and the high one gets too hot for comfort after 30 minutes or so but can be turned to low or off easily. How do you do the hard wired thing? Would love to get a step by step on that.

That is one of my biggest concerns is that it will be noticable if its just under the cover. Appreciate the input.

Funny. I just ran across this thread now but had already put "carbonfiber" heating pads under both passenger and driver side Wet Okole covers... just last week!!! At first I wasn't very impressed and in fact... even had to check underneath with a hand to be sure they were on. But man-o-man. After testing them a bit more and letting them stay on for awhile and hop into that seat when its cold outside. OOOOLALA!... very cozy. Nice too have on those cold Pa mornings. I have remote start in my 03 Tacoma as well. Wife keeps her car in the garage and mine stays out in the driveway. No matter what the weather... I remote start and let in run 10 mins. Better than jumping into a cold car thats been sitting in the garage even. No scraping, snow sloughs off quickly enough. No frozen blades... and now my ass is warm as soon as climb in too. Almost don't feel getting out of my truck once I get to my destination. Sooooo cozy. :)

Oh... and as per some questions above: I simply used the pull and stick tape/edging on the heating pads and put them right under the seat covers directly over the stock seats. I did not remove the stock seating material and actually think it might work against you if you did... less heat? The Okole covers are thick and protective. I don't worry at all about the pads getting bent up in any way. Seems fine. I just made sure that the small (but thicker) resistors in wires located at the back edges of the panels where the connectors come out were tucked into the crevice between top (lumbar) and bottom seats so that your not sitting on them. I think the neoprene is thick enough that even if you did have them out a bit into the seat itself, you wouldnt notice. Had my Okole covers since buying the truck in 03. Those covers rock. Customer support is awesome. had a panel or two replaced for cheap. They are REALLY awesome now with heat!

You dont necessarily need to but the heating pads from Okole. I got mine as a universal fit through Amazon. Think it was about 60 bucks. Get some good fuse taps to use in the fuse box. The switches seem "ok" but don't fit nice and tight as I was hoping. Mounted them in my center console. Might have been my own install with the holes being too big maybe(?) but regardless... I recommend a using a glue gun to put a bead around the insde the switch-2-console surface to insure it doesn't move at all with continuous use.

...and theres tons of youtube video on the universal installation. exactly the same ones available on Amazon. Just skip the hard part of taking your seats out of truck and taking them apart, reassembling and installing them back in the truck. Using the seat covers saves you about 2-3 hours work I would guess. Had mine done in 2 hours maybe?... that was while taking my time drinking lots of beer too. :)

These are the ones I found on Amazon.. others are very similar. Comes with plug-n-play harness and relays. realy. really simple. With the seat covers you could probably get it done in an hour if you have all the tools and items ready. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0rAzKS7160

Excellent! I think you'll be pleased. Again... I would get rid of (cut off) the inline fuse that comes with each harness and use a fuse tap 9one for each seat) in the fuse box. Thats what I did. if you REALLY want to do it right... which I plan on doing later... get an auxillary fuse box installed with the stock one in the cab to handle any and all upgrades to power circuts/electronics (including the seats). Blue sea makes some good ones and instructions for installing those are all over TW. Heads-up: the instructions that come with the pads were awful... use online instructions and/or those youtube instructional vidoes instead. The instructions in the product were useless. Share an update when your done!!!! Reach out if have any questions.
