    Hello All,

First post but feel inclined to share my experience with increasing the seat comfort in a 2018 TRD OR.

As many others have noted, the seats on the Tacoma leave much to be desired. I would find myself shifting around in the seat after an hour of driving. I could drive multiple hours non-stop but I didn’t love it.

Here is what I did to increase seat comfort from a 6 to an 8 imo. Clazzio leather seat covers came first, which are awesome but honestly didn’t do much for comfort till later. Next was the aluminum seat spacers from this member: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fs-aluminum-seat-spacers-for-seat-mod.563843/

I first went with 1” spacer as this seems to be the standard. Although it improved the comfort, being 6’1”, I felt every little bit of head room is needed. I moved this set over to the passenger and ordered a .75”. You can feel the difference between the two.

Last step to increase seat cushion by ordering memory foam to install under the seat covers. I went with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078SG32QQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I cut to fit the seating area with a slight overlap to cover the side ridges of the seat. This is important as even with the seat covers, I could feel this raised area in my thighs. Extending the memory foam and smoothing this transition out helped a lot.

With these mods, I am now content with the seats and will stop messing with them. Also, don’t forget to play with the angle of backrest and lumber. I have always preferred a very upright posture while driving and had started that way with this truck. Now, I have found my sweet spot for adjustment which is slightly reclined and had wish I keep playing with it in the beginning before assuming it was right for thousands of miles.

Anyway, love the community here and all the ideas. I am natural tinkeer so I can always get my fix.

I went with a $20 seat cushion in the 95’ T100 for a long time! Those seats are about a 5 for comfort in my book and the leather was all ripped up.
