    Hi All,
I've decided to send the driver's , left and right rear outer seat belts off to be rebuilt/repaired. I have a 2004 double cab. This truck has a salvage title due to left rear damage that had amounted to at least 24% of the vehicle's value. Of course this happened with a previous owner. Car fax said that the air bags were not Reported as being deployed. As an aside, the truck drives and runs great. I'm truly "tickled" to have it!
Honestly I want an expert to look at the belts. I have looked into just buying new belts but BLUE GRAY belts don't seem to be available. I've checked everywhere. All of the sites have charcoal or oak and NOT blue gray. The driver's belt doesn't retract well. I've come to understand that his is a common Toyota belt problem. I did try cleaning the belt as a previous forum had suggested with modest improvement. The right rear outer will expand only with difficultly to allow use. The left rear outer is locked and doesn't allow use. I've come to learn that this can be associated with an air bag deployment.

    My questions:

    1) Does anyone know how to unplug the yellow electrical clip for the pre tensioner without damaging it?

    2) Has anyone used a the company Safety Restore?

Thanks all for your help and advice,

    Bill

I was able to remove the yellow electrical connector. There is a black clip on the back that you simply pop up. After doing so the connector is easily removed. This is important, as I have read, that if this connector is broken or not handled properly, air bag light will come on.

Again any thoughts on Safety Restore appreciated. They seem to be a reputable outfit.

I have the exact same questions for my 2017, but I have no black clip.
Is the clip on TOP of the connector, or back side opposite the wire side?
    Picture of mine attached.
Did you use Safety Restore? I plan to do so, unless I see bad reports on them.
    Thanks for your help.

I have used saftey restore. My issue was lazy retract. They put in new belt webbing and while it helped it is not like new. I had better luck with drilling a small hole in the housing that secures the wound spring, blowing compressed air in and silicone spraying it. The belt still has to be put inside the truck before you close the door as it doesnt retract without some "help".
