Is anyone out there in Tacoma land aware of any product that can extend the buckle on a seatbelt? (The receiver end... the part that sticks out of the seat)

My son has a hard time trying to buckle his seatbelt when he's in his carseat due to having to squeeze between the seat and the centre console. Is there something that can be inserted into the receiver to make it a bit longer and easier to buckle?

    Auto parts stores carry them.

Just one from seatbeltextenderpros.com and they don't have any for the driver's side seat except a bolt in extender.

Ask at the Toyota dealership, they used to give them away for free if you needed them. I found the part number for the one for my 1st gen online and ordered it from Partznet with a bunch of other stuff and they sold it to me for $0.01.

And so I don't get flamed for not wearing my seatbelt. I wear my seatbelt all the time except while in the pasture. Damn dinger goes off reguarly and seems at any speed.

This is what I made out of aluminum bar stock to get rid of that annoying chime when getting in and out of my Tacoma. Of course I use it while driving around the farm only an not while on the road.

This. I believe Toyota provides them on request.

I'm not sure, but if there's no real back seat (Access cab for OP?), then the front seat is an option for child car seat installation. Usually there's a air bag disconnect switch or sensor that disables the airbag so the child doesn't get blasted by the air bag deployment. I used to be up to date on this child car seat safety stuff when I had little ones. Now i'm teaching my kids how to drive nowadays. Sigh.

Truth. Laws vary from state to state / province to province, but after a certain height/weight here, it's okay for a child up front. He just uses the booster mainly so he can see better.

Car seat extenders are free at a Toyota dealer. Provide parts department with your VIN, extender length (3", 6", 9" or 12") and seat location (front or rear). Takes about 10 days for the parts department to receive the extender.

FYI: many of the aftermarket extenders are not safety certified.
