Anyone else have this problem? When I'm driving semi aggressive (which is most of the time) my seat belt locks up. I broke my collar bone last year so it hurts when it locks. They shouldn't lock you in place with around town driving.

Tried slowing down? Maybe it's related to your driving.

I've just noticed when I'm driving in certain ways it locks up easier and if I'm driving through the grocery parking lot it never locks up, so perhaps there is a correlation.

Yeah, I'm a spaz and it always catches me. Looks like I'm having some kind of fit when trying to loosen it! :p

I was turning into a parking lot when it locked up today. Wasn't getting crazy either. Maybe I'll get one of those grandma seat belt strap covers.

You could always ask your dealer to look at it. I can honestly say in 1 year and 22k miles (sometimes aggressive) my seat belt has locked up twice. 2013 SR5.

My seatbelt locks up every time that I accelerate too fast or brake too hard, go around corners like a racecar or jump a speedbump. It is suppose to do that, for safety. Seatbelts nowadays are suppose to lock incase of an accident. That way, you don't fly out and cops know if you were wearing one or not.

Does yours do it randomly? That might be an issue.

Seatbelts are smart(never thought that I would say that). They lock up if you pull them in a fast and fluid motion.

Mine locks as I pull it on, almost every time, and usually several times before I sigh loudly, curse quietly, and then gently pull a millimeter at a time using little baby tugs.

It never locks up when driving, unless it is in a situation that it should.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
Mine locks up in the same intersection every day whether I'm driving my Tacoma or my Camry. I try to lean forward to see if any vehicles are coming around a blind curve and it won't let me lean up, even when I'm stopped. Its a downhill, off camber stop sign, I'm not speeding or doing anything out of the ordinary, I think its just related to angles and braking or in your case maybe G force.

As others have said braking will cause it to lock up. Light braking won't, but by the sounds of the op he doesn't do much light braking.

Yeah not much light braking on my end. I've driven the same way for 20 years or so and never had such a sensitive seat belt. Well, at least I know that others have the same issue.

In my defense, the Tacoma is a fun little truck. Hard to not drive and have some fun with it. It's the first vehicle I've had that I want to keep.

These seat belts are touchy... whenever I park off camber offroad I can never get it to unlock until I'm on flat ground. Piss poor safety if you ask me... makes me drive with no seat until the ground is flat...well maybe I want it in case I roll over in a off camber situation.

Thank god! I thought I was the only one with this problem! My seatbelt will lock while I'm in first gear cruising through a parking lot. It sometimes does it while I'm driving in a straight line at 15mph if i try to lean forward to change the radio or something. Horribly annoying
