Ive had my truck for 6 months and just noticed this . 2016 TRD Off Road Double Cab. The passenger seat has a seat back pocket for the rear occupants but the drivers seat does not. Is this normal?

Wow, I never noticed. Same with my AC model, just went outside in the dark and checked. It doesn't matter and kind of makes sense, too hard to reach. I use the pocket for trash, very convenient from the driver seat, although never messy trash.

It's called "saving $".... my 2006 Taco had both pockets and BOTH grab handles in the front... Did you notice no grab handle for driver..?? They also save $ by not filling trannys and U joints and Diffs...If you add it up over how many "towsends" of trucks... I'd bet that would have been enough to get "THE Donald" out of debt in 1995 when he stopped paying taxes...

Maybe we should look at Toyota's books....????

Did your '06 have an airbag under that grab handle? Somehow I doubt it. And something tells me that the airbag costs a few pennies more than a plastic grab handle. Or would you prefer a grab handle over additional safety to you?

$40,000,000,000+ In the bank! Good business practice in my book. We didn't see Toyota lining up with their hand out during the recession.

No, there was no air bag in the driver's side pillar in my 2006...and it cost me $10,000 less than this 2016.... Do you know the Tundras don't have the handles either, but you can add one for $$... it has nothing to do with the air bag there.... It's a cost saving measure... I don't really care either way (my wife does though).. I never used the seat pockets in my 2006.

That's it I'm talking my truck back! This is such a rip off and Toyota can suck it!!! Oh wait I signed the papers, took delivery and did the pre delivery walk thru of my truck and was so exited about it that I slept in the front seat the first night. LOL Never mind I can live with what I knew I was getting when I drove it off the lot LOL :bananadance:

LOL...I actually called Toyota and asked them if the Gen3 had that pocket. They told me on the phone they had no idea, how can Toyota not know if it does or does not come with one??? Anyway, asked on here and nobody else has one. Long story short, don't use it anyway so don't care. More inquisitive because my 2nd Gen had one.

Where's my sunglasses holder? Surely no vehicle in 2016 would come without a sunglasses holder. What are we, animals??

Nothing to do with the airbag. Airbag is designed to push between the pillar and the plastic covering. If it interfered with the grab handle, the passenger side would not have one.

Good point. Didn't think about the passenger side.
