Hi everyone. 2012 Tacoma with an issue. I've been scouring the forum and found some useful stuff to help diagnose, but I've hit a wall. Here's what's up - hoping for help:

Engine light, track off light, went into limp mode. Checked the codes. Looked at the forums.

Opened the secondary air pump - sponge filter is fine, I can spin the fan with my fingers.

Took the hose off and blew into it. No air goes through, so the valve isn't stuck (from what I understand).

I started the engine and opened the pump again - the fan is not spinning. However I opened it around 2+- minutes after starting, and since I'm not that knowledgable on the subject, I'm not even sure it's supposed to be spinning at the point, or if it's only when you first start up to clear out the valve?

    So I'm hoping it's electrical.

Saw in another thread a guy found out it was just the relay. That's where I'm stuck. Can't for the life of me find a fuse or relay that corresponds to that part. The other guy's was a '13, so I'm not even sure there is one.

I'd really like to rule out a simple fuse or relay before I go replacing a $300 air pump. Can anyone point me to it?

Sorry if I missed where this might already be covered. Thank you very much.

    Sorry if this is

Toyota covers the secondary air pump for 10 years on the 2012 Tacomas. I would contact local dealer. Just had mine replaced last month.

It's called the A/I relay if I recall, its in the junction panel near the battery, swap it with another relay in the same box.

Thank you for that. Swapped with the horn, horn still works so relay is eliminated.

Would it be wise to go straight for swapping out the pump?

check with your dealer first before you just start swapping parts. If the dealer tells you to piss off, check with corporate. Otherwise, I have a complete setup for sale for about 1/5 cost to buy new if all else fails. However, you should have options with the dealer. Mine is off a ‘14 with the “new and revised” version, according to Toyota.
