I have discovered a pretty good paint chip on my hood, and I’m pretty sure there are some from various gravel roads along the sides/bottom curve of my Tacoma.

the one on the hood is probably from a construction or farming vehicle that threw a rock into me as that’s just a fact of life in my area.

Just wondering if there’s any product or process I should do to seal up these chips as they occur. I’m sure there will be more throughout the truck’s life. I’m not concerned with hiding them or putting in the time/effort/money to make the truck look like it was never driven. I just want them protected from getting worse and causing rust and problems down the road.

From the location of this one I have now it looks like one of those hood deflector things may have helped prevent it, are any of those any good?

Paint code is on the Door Jamb sticker, use that to find a paint match.
if you cant find a paint pen, get some duplicolor or other paint that matches (rattle can) spray it on a small brush and apply.
Paint pen might be your best bet otherwise.

Try using some griot’s garage fine tip touch up applicators they look like mini qtips. It will help prevent putting a blob of touch up on your hood from the applicator that comes with the touch up paint.
