How did you seal the gap left around the radio? I installed a Kenwood DD dvd player and it fits well in the dash, but there is a big gap between the kit and the radio. The ring that came with the Kenwood is way too big, and the little dinky plastic that came with the Sosche is too small and doesn't fit anyway.

I had the same issue and I realized it's made for the 6" radio on the base model and I have the 7" radio, so I had to use the crappy free one that crutchfield sent me. An alternative is to buy the factory panel for the 6" radio.

The flimsy Scoche trim ring worked 85% good enough but not competition or show-car grade. Its loose on the bottom, but not noticeable, at least with an Alpine unit.

Maybe you have a depth issue? Are you re-using the stock radio brackets? I only had 2-3 mm gap between the bracket and the face of an Alpine.

I think I did have the brackets set too far forward on the unit, so I moved them back about 1/4 inch and it does work much better, but still a small gap. I am using the factory brackets, but was only able to use 3 screws.

Sounds like you have the depth correct. My factory brackets had alignment pips which fell into place on the Alpine frame, which set the depth for me. No guesswork or trial/error in setting the radio depth.

Cheapest and easiest fix might be to carefully shave down the Kenwood trim ring with a dremel drum or cut off wheel. Take some measurements with the radio installed, and gradually trim the trimring bezel until it fills the gap.

I have the same problem on my 2013. It’s a different Scosche kit for 12+ but I have about a 3mm gap on the bottom edge of my unit. The top edge has about a 1-2mm gap. Sort of disappears when mounted but is bothering me. I might go back and do some black foam tape just to bridge the gap and call it a day. Or get a trim ring and cut it up and epoxy it in place where needed.
