I have used so many products from Collinite 845, Mother's, etc. But 2 years ago I started using Blackfire Paint Sealant and I am speechless on the reflection, durability, and longevity. Ceramic Coating is nice but to really do it is a lot of money. I use the Blackfire Spray Sealant after each wash, after I use the leaf blower to get rid of all the water. This is my paint after 6 years in the Salt Belt of Massachusetts, and I apply the Paint Sealant about every 7 months. IMG_20200524_121245_428.jpg

As a side note, are you looking for something that'll keep it easy to clean, has a better hardness to it, or both? I'm sure these guys can help direct you to the right product at the right price point

Yes I clay the whole truck, then apply the Paint Sealant. I let the truck haze up for about an hour then wipe it off. I coat the whole truck at once, I use it on the glass as well. I wash it once or twice a week and apply the Spay Sealant every time. You can get almost a good year out of it, with the Spray Sealant after washes. Durability to me is sap doesn't stick, bird crap doesn't it just wipes right off.

When u say spray sealant after every wash u are referring to the spray wax sealant? I also wash mine once a week and am borderline OCD with keeping it clean. Thanks

My take on longevity/durability is it's often held up as the thing people look for the most and I think that's the wrong way to go about it. Case in point as you can always do as Unchained does and just reapply a product more often. I assume that since he applies it that often it must be easy to work with which in my opinion may be a better attribute than it's durability. Expect the durability to be less than what the manufacturer claims if the vehicle lives outside maybe by even half.

My choice is the "lite" ceramic products more robust than many spray on wipe off products but less durable than an enthusiast grade ceramic coating like Cquartz UK. Something like Gyeon Can Coat which is almost as easy to apply as most spray sealants or Cquartz Lite which has nearly the same performance as Cquartz UK but with an easier application. Either option comes with about 8 applications worth.

As for clay and polish, I don't look at them as much as a requirement but more or less something you do because it needs it. Not every vehicle at whatever given state it's in always needs every square inch of the surface to be clayed. Clay what needs to be like the lower panels which should by default have more contaminants than upper panels. Polishing is the ultimate step in making the paint look good and to fix defects. If you have to chase the defects with a specific light held at a certain angle, do you really need to fix it? That is up to you and how much investment of your own time or money. Sure sealants and coatings make the paint look better but none of them can make the paint look as good as a proper polish.

    The Taco looks great.

Have you tried any other AutoGeek sealant like Wolfgang?

Have you tried the Blackfire wax on top of the Blackfire sealant

Some one I know from Autogeek sent me a bunch of samples. The Wolfgang Sealant leaves a carnauba like shine. The car shampoo does leaves a noticeable shine. From what I tried the Wolfgang products seem like a nice product line.

They are Blackfire just happened to be the first one I tried, and it wasn't broken. So I had no need to fix it.
