Any body have a good solution to seal ( from wind noise) in between cap and cab? I have seen flexible rubber seals and blow up tubes...

But nothing simple that makes sense...

am I the only one with this issue?

There's a few threads here discussing this. There's nothing great avaiable.

I've tried the inflatable boot and I've tried foam weatherstrip like material. The biggest problem with the boot was keeping it inflated and the fact that no matter how I placed it, it contacted the paint. So I worried about paint scratches and scuffs. The weatherstriping was hard to keep in place. It seems like someone should be able to design custom fit weatherstriping that would form to the truck window. Haven't seen anything.

Hmmm? Time to put the thinking cap on since there's no easy solution...

What about something like an accordion boot? (ex. https://www.accordionboot.com/) They are designed to go bewtween the window and the box/shell but you could use it around the perimeter of the cab/shell. Maybe attach the shell part with 3M tape and the truck side with some rare earth magnets so that it would be removable? Just thinking out loud here...

Is this a common problem? - I'm thinking about getting a shell, but don't want wind noise.

@UTVolyaker Wind noise is only an issue if you keep your rear window open all of the time. For various reasons some want the ability to keep the window open for passthrough while keeping wind and weather out. But closing the window stops the wind noise.

Possibly some adhesive metal flashing formed to the cap and some on the cab, then an accordion style weather stripping secured with either magnets or a very strong adhesive. The strong adhesive would be bonded to the metal flashing instead of to your paint. You could also use some clear coat over the cab where weather stripping would touch. Maybe a clear vinyl wrap sheet formed over. to protect paint. A few options. Just tossing ideas out. I don't have a cap but want to eventually for sleeping in the bed and have thought about sealing the two together.
