I have the Seafoam spray (not the one that's poured)...can I injected it into this port (see attached photo) as it would be easier than getting that whole air intake system off just to get the straw attached by the throttle body? Thanks!

I don’t think I would want to do that. That means all the crud the sea foam cleans and dislodge would get sucked into you engine. The idea is to remove the crud.

Its pretty easy to take off the throttle body and clean. You tube has plenty of videos. While your at it change your plugs and pvc valve. If your unsure bring it to a shop.

    Why bother. o_O

If you feel like the fuel system is dirty and needs cleaning get some fuel system cleaner Techron or Seafoam and add it to the gasoline as per directions.

If the throttle body is dirty take the hour of time and clean it properly. What you are suggesting is half ass and will not accomplish anything.

Ahhhh.....another quick fix from "Maintenance in a Can"

Best at depleting the thickness of your wallet, not so good at the cleaning task, pretty good at providing the "I took care of my ride" feeling.

Cleaning the throttle body is an easy task. A few simple fasteners to remove the intake plenum, 4 bolts and a couple of hoses, the throttle body is off the engine (on the 4.0L V-6). Take it to the bench, a bit of spray carb cleaner, a few wipes with a shop towel.......clean as new. Reinstall. Might take 10-15 minutes from start to finish.

My exhaust smells like banana bread after I eat an entire bunch of bananas.

The wife has since limited me to 1 banana a day.

Although, it was pretty funny at the time......well at least to me.

So I have bore scoped my pistons in my 2.7 with 175k. A lot of carbon.
I ran a few treatments of BG 44k and a lot of the buildup was gone.
It didn’t take long to return.
It was using oil with no smoke or leaks?
I had installed a catch can also. Winter had more in it than summer.
I’d done syn blend since 50k at every 3k with Toyota filters.
Truck was t boned at 196k totaled it.

Immediately after destroying the surrounding atmosphere you should say, "Do you smell popcorn?" Most people love the smell of fresh popcorn and will take a deep breath.

Yes, I know I'ma sick bastid. I've learned to embrace it!:rofl:

No better than dumping it into the gastank or using Techron...

Plus adding it to the gas tank doesn't have a risk of washing out the cylinder walls and/or hydrlocking the engine.

Has anyone ever hydrolocked an engine from Seafoam? Serious question.

I had a beater '92 s10 4 cylinder w/iron duke engine. I don't recall the interval, but every so often, the truck would get sluggish. I kept up regular maintenance, so it definitely wasn't neglected. Anyways, I would take the top off the air filter (old school style) and pour Seafoam directly into the intake carb slowly, making the truck bog, then let up a little, resume for 60% of the bottle. Then dump the rest in and let it choke out the engine to stall. Sit for a half hour, then start up and drive. Honestly, for that truck it made one hell of a positive difference. I wouldn't go doing that to my taco though...

With enough use, Seafoam will do a number on catalytic converters. The stuff works well. I just use it on small engines without cats as needed. I've used Lucas injector cleaner with good results in the past.

All the gunk it burns off gets sent into the catalytic converters, which weren't common when Seafoam was developed in the 1950s.
