I agree with the redline, it's been proven to have the most cleaner additives.

I have done a fair amount of research on "injector cleaners" as i have a supercharged seadoo jet boat that does alot of sitting (and as such old gas even with enzyme treatment gets left in the fuel rails).... if i dont run a quality injector cleaner through the first tank of the season i have at least one cylinder of the 3 running lean. You can tell just by pulling the plugs, proper ones are nice toasted marshmellow brown... and one will be stark white.

I tried running a full can of seafoam in a half a tank (10gal) for extra concentration and ran the piss out of her... pulled plugs no change. Ran one small bottle of gumout with regane (would of ran redline but the parts store by the lake didnt have it) in another half tank..... and everything worked itself out, all 3 plugs showed the same color, and i gained 100 rpms on the top end.... THATS HUGE in the boating world.

    Are floor mats a mod?
I used to build F1 hydro boat engines for Yamaha, and the engineers said they wished they could run on 100% Techron, so I'm thinking it's pretty good stuff.
From everything I've read, and all the Toyota techs I've talked with, just change the trans fluid, don't force flush. They say it can break loose small chunks of deposit that sticks in the ball checks in the trans, and make the fluid not flow properly.

I have used Techron with good results, actually solved a random misfire issue I was having in a DI Turbo Volkswagen engine. One recommendation though, I read that you should run the Techron immediately prior to an oil change, something to do with it breaking down zinc additives (ZDDP) in the oil, which you dont want.

FWIW, I havent used any fuel injector cleaners in my Tacoma, at 92,000 miles now and no issues. Most gasolines have enough detergents in to keep the injectors and intake valves free of build up and gunk.

If your truck is running great, leave it. I don't do much to modern injection systems if everything's working fine. On my motorcycle and small engines, anything with a carburetor, i absolutely do preventive maintenance. If i have an engine with a carburetor running rough, 8 of 10 times sea foam can cure or at least improve the symptoms.

First became aware of SeaFoam from my outboard mechanic. He used it for carbon removal in the high performance V6 Mercury 2 stroke outboards he specialized in. He gave a before and after example of looking into the cylinders with a bore scope and finding the Pistons much cleaner from carbon after using SeaFoam.

Even though our trucks are 4 stroke and do not have oil added to the fuel they can still benefit from carbon removal.

You are correct. Don't recall implying that they did.

    - Fuel injector cleaning
I used seafoam in gas tank several times over the years seemed ok. Rebuilt injectors about 2 years ago at over 100,000 mile (like you, I never had a problem, just did it)

    - Flush and Replace Transmission oil
I have 5-speed auto, I do every 50,000 miles, this is the only maintenance thing I get dealership to do

    - Replace brake and Power Steering fluid
I have replaced brake fluid about 4 times since 2006. I have NEVER replaced power steering fluid. THANK YOU for reminding me, in about 8 hrs when stores open that will be done!

    - Replace motor oil with synthetic
I started doing that at over 100,000 miles, started using Mobil synthetic 0w30. Never had any issues with castrol 5W30 before or with 0W30 Mobil synthetic, both are good. Just of you switch to synthetic, STAY with synthetic!

    - Diff's oil
Mine is at about 140,000 miles, I have replaced it I think 4 times

    - Radiator fluid
At 140,000 miles I have replaced 1 time! THANK YOU AGAIN for reminder! , same thing, soon as stores open that is getting changed to!

    - Spark plugs
About every 60,000 miles, use Bosch platinum

    - Check tire pressure
    About 3x a week

    - Check battery water (when not using gel cell)
    Once a week

    - Lay on crawler and inspect everything underneath, bolts, add-ons, leaks, damp spots, all of it...
    Every 2 weeks, min!

    - Wash completely
    Once a week

    - Interior air filter
I suck at this, always forget! Usually about every 4 years :(

    - Engine air filter
    About every 9,000 miles

    - COMPLETE RUN THROUGH
About every 3 years (check everything, all add-ons, trace all wires, check voltages, I mean everything!)

    - OBD test
3-4 times a week, I keep it in the truck at all times

    - Change brake pads up front
    I have 4 times in 140,000 miles

    - Change rear brakes
Bought in 2006, changed them in 2011, those are still good

    - U-Joints
in 140,000 miles I have changed twice

    - Windshield wipers
For years I had to change like once a year, bought the dealer OEM parts, bought all brand you could think of, even bought the "Rain-X" ones, in 2011 I spent a few more bux, bought some Bosch Platinum, I actually started noticing streaks on the left side the weekend before last, so they need to be changed.

    - Headlights and Fog lights..
Yeash, too much to even mention

I am sure I'll think of more maintenance things and add later...

Just my history, not a recommendation, just info bro :)

    -- edit --
BTW, I may be a red headed step child, but my truck runs best on 87 octane and gets better millage... go figure! Again just some history

How did you rebuild the injectors?

They cannot be disassembled. They are welded together and molded in plastic...

At best you cleaned the outside, replaced the o-rings and maybe the end cap.

I know a couple of people that have used Seafoam, and both of them said it fouled their sparkplugs, so if you do it - do it before you change your plugs

    FYI

I think he meant blinker fluid.

Everyone knows radiators use anti freeze to keep from boiling over. o_O

I remember Prestone branded anti freeze now I think they call it anti/freeze coolant which almost sounds like an oxymoron. If you are worried about preventing freezing why add a coolant? Just kidding with a play on words. At least I did not use the term "fluid" which seemed to trigger the response.

I've always used seafoam but mainly through the vacuum line. My 96 4Runner with 300k miles on it runs smoother at idle after treatment and feels more responsive but it also may be the reason for my cat starting to fail. Maybe do this once a year with seafoam.
Recently failed last smog check due to high NO, ran a tank with Berrymans fuel treatment, cut my numbers in half and passed on retest. For a once a month gas treatment I always preferred techron but never really noticed a big difference when pulling plugs or injectors for general maintenance when using treatments or not although I'll probably use start using something on a regular basis now that I have a 2015 taco to baby.

As far as what's in it and all that part of the debate I don't have a say
Here's my experience: I had a jeep wrangler and after filling it up one day it would shut down if I pushed the clutch. I spent a couple of days trying to figure out what was going on. A guy my dad worked with said it was either water in the tank or the feul pump was actingnup. Buy seafoam. I did and after $3,and 20 minutes it drove like new.

Sorry, replaced. As far as "Radiator Fluid"... you guys run pure anti-freeze????? Down here, when you mix anti-freeze and water, that called radiator fluid!

uhmmm... NO! NO ONE USES PURE ANTI-FREEZE! Unless you live next door to Santa Clause. If you do, tell him I want a Turbo for Christmas instead of a Super Charger I put on my list! :)
