    Hi Folks,

At some point (I know they are hard to come by) I am going to buy a set of SCS Ray10 wheels. The size I want would be the 17 x 8.5 -10 offset. I have been trying to educate myself on what scrub radius is and how it affects the handling of the vehicle. Using one of those wheel fitment calculators (Offfset site) it appears that the stock wheel 17 x 7.5, +30 offset) with the stock tire (265/65-17) is assumed, by the calculator, to have a 0 scrub radius whereas the SCS wheel with a 265/70-17 would have a positive scrub radius of approximately 1 and 1/32 inches. Was wondering if any of you who have these wheels have noticed much difference in handling characteristics or not. I know SCS wheels are made specifically for Toyota and Jeep vehicles so I would expect there would not be any problems, but thought I should ask. Thanks!

Those wheel specs don't specifically pertain to just SCS wheels. Any wheels with the same specs will have the same behavior. And it's a very common setup for these trucks.

My wheels are those same specs, but I have swapped out almost my entire suspension and am running a 285/70. I don't really notice anything different about how the truck drives from swapping the wheels themselves, but it drives much easier with increased caster (from my UCA's) and a proper alignment (you're in AZ you should go see Eddie @ Forza Automotive in Tempe for alignments). IMO that is perfect size wheel/offset for this truck. Don't overconcern yourself with the details, that size will fit and work just fine so long as you have the correct alignment settings for your setup.

Thanks Andrew for the detailed info. I'll definitely keep Eddie in mind when I get to the alignment
