This pic is not mine but my wheels look similar with the peeling. I do have the center caps.

By my estimates, I'm looking at $70 if I scrap. How much demand is there for peeling 2nd gen rims? Do people pay $100+ for these?

I haven't seen any for sale in my area. Thanks everyone!

Put them on CL & FB marketplace recommending them as being winter wheels. Both are free.

Give yourself a deadline. If they don't sell in x days, off to the scrapper. (but I'll bet they never see the melting pot)

Unfortunately old OEM wheels don't have much value. It doesn't help that Toyota put millions and millions of that particular wheel on countless Tacomas, Tundras and 4Runners for the better part of a decade. They're plentiful

If you where in my area I’d give you 100 for them to use for winter studded tires so I didn’t have to swap wheels. If put them up for sale for a bit if you get no interest and they are in your way then to the scrap yard they go.

    Perfectly for winter use.

I snagged a set of OE steelies for $50 a few years ago for my snow tires. Always good to have a 2nd set if you have snow tires.

Those 17s look great if you get them refinished.

The same shit everyone else has.
I’ve bought a couple sets of those in similar condition for about 100$ a set.

If you don’t want to deal with people abs can still get 75$ for em scrapping them, go for it.

Had the same wheels on my 07 before getting 3rd gen wheels. I scrapped the wheels, but kept the center caps which I put on CL and sold for $35.

I sold mine this past summer for either $400 or $500, they had 65,000 mile Goodyears on them that only had 1000-2000 miles on them, the rims were also in great condition, came off of a 2015. It’s all in timing and what folks in your area need, the guy I sold it to wanted to get stock rims and tires back.

LOL... I have a set of those, too, with 60,000 mile Michelin LTX M+S tires... probably have enough tread for another 3-5k in summer weather. Wheels were never damaged, tires never punctured. Just crappy paint and winter weather and salt. Getting these professionally refinished would have cost more that the TRD Pros I got from the dealer with new rubber last fall. They are taking up space in my workshop so I need to just scrap them.

And the problem with scrapping them for the metal is that the cost to get the tires removed would probably be as much as I get for the wheels. So I may just go give them away to a tire shop... if they'll take them. Otherwise maybe to the dump. Sad.

Agreed. I hate to see things go to waste like that. There's nothing wrong w/ them aside from condition and aesthetics. Like everyone said...great winter wheels.

I say put them on FB/CL, etc. Even if it's less than 70, at least someone might get some use out of them. Maybe someone building a trailer that needs a full size?

First world problem. I have a set of 5 taking up space because I don’t want to scrap them. They have little market value. :sorry:
