I have a TRD Off Road with regular navigation connected to my iPhone 6S. I downloaded Scout GPS Link to my iPhone but I cannot get the Scout app to connect to my phone so I can download the Scout app to my Entune/head unit. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Is Scout GPS Link not compatible with Tacomas that have navigation? Any suggestions/advice? Thanks

I followed the directions, the Scout GPS Link won't connect with my Entune radio.

I thought the Scout GPS was only for SR and SR5's that didn't have built in navigation with Entune.

I'm with Wilds1. Reading over Toyota's documentation, it looks like only the Audio Plus units use a Scout GPS Link app on a phone for navigation. The Premium units have navigation built in so they don't need it.

"Available exclusively on model year 2016 Toyota vehicles equipped with Entune™ Audio Plus, Scout® GPS Link provides you with directions..."

"With the introduction of Scout® GPS Link, navigation guidance will soon be available on most trim levels of all eighteen 2016 Toyota models—as part of an Entune™ Premium Audio system or linked to the Entune™ Audio Plus system on model year 2016 vehicles via your smartphone."

It doesn't say that in the manual but you're probably right.

So when you pay more for built-in navigation, you are forced to use outdated maps. I love my Taco but when it comes to nav, Toyota is still in the '90's.

You can download and install the Entune app and it gives connectivity to your Entune headunit. Like someone else mentioned, the Scout app is for Sr5's and non-nav units. The Entune app is for the Nav units in the TRD's. Using Pandora through this is my fav part of it. The Toyota Nav is clunky and so I usually use Waze off my phone since it routes around traffic.

Scout app is a joke. Better option is mirroring your smartphone.

I always just link my phone to the stereo with Bluetooth and then any of my nav on my phone plays the turn by turn through the stereo. You have to look at your phone if you want to see it, but as long as you listen I’ve never had to look
