Driving home Saturday night, only vehicle on the highway in either direction for a good way. Doing 70mph with the cruise on, check my mirror and see a car way behind me, look down and then back up and he's right on top me. Kid tried to pass last second, side swiped my truck, then hit a guard rail, then flew across the side of the highway and landed in a ditch.

Looks like the truck is totalled. Kid was charged with reckless driving.

His insurances limit is less than my trucks appraised value. I've had to file with my own insurance in order to receive full compensation.

Get the state to pull his license until he pays the difference to make you whole.

BTW how can there be a limit on his insurance. Never heard of that before. Does your state allow people to go under insured? He should be liable for the difference.

Florida only requires 10k injury and 10k property.

Of course he's still liable but usually these dickheads are worthless trash that won't amount to the missing 15k over their lifetime. The OPs insurance company will decide if it is worth going after the driver for the difference.

OP - glad you are OK, could have been so much worse!

Some youngsters are are just too wild to live very long......has always been the case.

The automobile gives then a tool with which to accelerate their demise.
