We need the aftermarket community to make these scene lights for our trucks. 4 lights around the bed. Let's go. Screenshot_20241129_223111_YouTube.jpg

Well as long as they are better than the OEM. Not impressed with them on mine.

Thats a great idea. Maybe even with a smoked lens so they really blend in until turned on. I don't need more projects on my workbench right now though.....

I sent Meso Customs a suggestion to do them. I think they would find there is demand for these

What would you change to make them better?

Probably brighter is my guess since I have not seen them lit at night

Brighter and better light cut off. I don’t have a good picture in a dark area to really show what I mean.

This picture does a good job of my issues. Lights are not a continuous pattern around the sides and does not go up to the truck…like to the tire.

lmao bro it's literally physics. the lights are in the bed rail cap. do you expect them to magically shine through the metal of the bed to light up the tire?

Here are couple of photos at a campsite. I have turned on all my LED lights (3) under my topper:

    Wider angle to show coverage:

I am guessing rock lights might help fill in the void.

No I don't. What would be nice if there were some lights in the wheel well that were part of the scene light package to take care of the void.

underglow has been a thing since like the late 80s... if you want to look tacky there's been options for as long as i've been alive.

How about these guys- They are led strobes, but has steady mode. They will be MUCH brighter as they are a class I listed warning light- but you don’t need to use them for that. I have slightly larger ones on my truck that I use for side/scene lighting when working in some very dark areas. Going to add rock lights to fill the lower areas…

Not a 4th gen I'll admit - but I "electrified" the crossbed tool box on my outfit to have lighting and run a compressor. To provide side lighting of the ground I fitted the box with these LED RV porch lights. They have cast aluminum housings and an inherent downward aim.

To work on the forward end of the truck, my best idea has been to put side lamps under the rear view mirrors.

White underglow would probably be the most affective soloution for putting light on the ground. Along the pinch weld or running boards below the cab, plenty of lights designed just for that, but I was thinking LED strip lighting. The entire bed rail could be illuminated instead of two lamps at either end. Lights could also be installed in the flares the same as GMC does with those marker lights.

Has anyone added the OEM bed scene lights to their Taco? What is the part number for the set of four? Do you just trim your existing bed rail caps along the pre-marked lines?

Here are the 2 part numbers for the bed scene lights that I've been able to find:

    PT944-35240 & PT944-35241

I believe one number is for the long bed and the other for the short bed.

Please do post where if you can find these because I haven't been able to.

I ask the parts counter people at my local Toyota dealership for stuff every time my truck gets serviced but they are so stupid there that they can barely get you an oil filter.

And when they do, they have to stare at their computer for 15 minutes before they can figure out which one to go get.

I believe you get the whole rail cap with the lights if you can find them
