Does anyone know of a salvage yard in San Diego that has 3rd Gen's for pick-a-part?

I've got a project for my truck and I'm looking for the switch panel from the left side of the steering wheel.

You'll have more luck finding parts on Tacoma World. Just make a post of what you are looking for in buy, sell or trade.
Unless you find a wreaked one, they don't seem to exist. Even older 1st and 2nd gens are rare around here in my area.

This is so true! I've had a first gen and currently own a second. If you actually do find one they are usually just empty shells. They get picked over so damn quick. There are sites that are connected nationwide that let you enter a description of what you're looking for and they do the looking. Prices aren't bad, but it's hit and miss. You won't know what your getting till you get it. Sometimes they'll have pictures, but usually pretty grainy. Good luck!

Now that you mention it I think I ran across one of those sites yesterday when searching online. Oh well, it was mostly for insurance so I don't mess up my own interior trying to figure this project out.

I just took a look and realized I have no idea of what the part I'm looking for is called on their site, we refer to it as the 'left side switch panel'.

On your door for window switches or to the left of your steering wheel? Never mind, just re-read first post.
