Samsung S10 Notifications don't work while driving

I use a Samsung S10 phone. If I'm in my 2018 TRD Sport and the vehicle audio source is Bluetooth because I'm playing Spotify, I get all of my text and Waze notifications through the truck speakers.

The problem I'm having is when the vehicle audio source is FM Radio, I don't get text notifications or Waze notification via the truck speaker OR the phone.

It seems like my phone is still connecting to Entune somehow and I don't get any notifications. As soon as I turn off my truck all notifications play through the phone.

I'd love it if the notifications would play through the truck speakers even when the audio source is FM, but if that's not possible I'd like them to still come through the phone at a minimum.

    Any suggestions?

I have an S10 (not the "e" and not the "+") and I get notifications on my Entune (whatever the OEM Limited Entune version is). It will translate the incoming texts to play as audio. Can you make/receive phone calls?

Audio from Bluetooth sources (phone) will only play when the sound source is set to Bluetooth. So if you are on FM/AM etc it won't play. Meanwhile your phone is playing sound via BT even if it's not selected on the truck because it's paired.

Simple SMS messages can however display a pop up if you have it set where it can read them in Settings - Connections - Bluetooth - Tacoma name - message access.

Or you can simply turn off Bluetooth on your phone to hear them on the phone. Additionally on the S10 in particular once connected to the truck you can tap Media in the notification shade and change the audio output back to your phone while still maintaining Bluetooth for phone calls if one comes in.

Personally I manually select the phone as the media output via the Media button on the notification shade so I can hear Google maps if I'm using FM or my iPod (90% of the time it's my iPod).

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
You can also set (on the phone) what audio alerts are sent to what output. An example of how thats useful, say you're streaming spotify to a Bluetooth speaker during a cookout, well you won't want your text alert to blare out in the middle of all that so you can make it only go through the phone's speaker, etc.

As for my experiences with a 2020 and my s10, I run everything except FM so it seems to always work. I'll get a pop up notification on the radio even on satellite radio. I have Bluetooth paired and virtually always have the phone connected via USB for android auto so however it does it, it works.

I highly recommend Media Monkey for managing music files on your phone, it works really well on Android auto. I use it as my music program on the laptop, even paid for it and tried and bought it for my phone too. Love it. Syncs really well, easy to organize too.
