I have a 2022 Tacoma SR5 4x4 with the stock Firestone LS2 245/75r16 tires. I am at 35,000 miles and am looking at replacing them with highway oriented tires on the cheap. I have been looking at tires at Sam's Club. Is there anyone on here who has had experience with the Nexen Roadian HTX2 245/75r16? The specs look pretty compelling. They are 111T weight and speed versus the 109S with the OEM LS2. They are 700 A A versus 520 A B with the OEM LS2. Plus they are severe snow rated with the mountaintop symbol. These specs place this tire above quite a few much pricier tires. So on paper or rather on the Internet, these tires look like a good choice.

Any good or bad experiences with these Nexans?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Just spend the extra $$$ and get Michelin LTX. They’ll last you 80k.

When I sold Nexen tires they were actually made on Michelin equipment. Sold a bunch of them with no issues. I even put a set, not the Roadians but the N3000s, and they rode well and wore well.
Michelin is not the end all be all of tires, there are plenty of other good choices out there.

I have had the NEXEN HTX2 for almost 400 miles. They are quiet and smooth. The tires seem to have high rolling resistance, they do have a lot of surface area, there are only small gaps between the rubber tread. There is siping also. In Northwest CT, the heavy wet snow was very slippery, greasy with a lot of slush. The tires were ok in the snow but definitely not snow tires. I run snows for winter. The HTX2 behaved very well in the rain. Tacomas are not “race trucks” or Prius’s. Too early to tell for long range yet.
