I have only had my truck for a month but plan on using it mostly for camping, and blasting down forest and fire roads. Nothing to fancy. However, I am looking for a jack setup that I can feel comfortable while changing a tire on the side of a beat up rutted out forest road. Which leads me to the Safejack adapters and jack base.

I have seen a few threads posted where guys are using an older 4Runner jack with the ram head removed to fit the Safejack adapters.

I really like this idea as it keeps things simple and compact.

My question is, would removing the ram head reduce the integrity of the jack?

Please enlighten me. Thanks for all and any replies.

I like safejack stuff. Legit high quality, MIA (but of course $$$)

I wanted to do the same, but their web site specifically says this combination will not work.

I was not willing to take the risk to try. (So I ended up making my own base pad that bolts to the bottom of the oem jack to increase height. But sadly so not have the nice saddle top that I was looking for)

I emailed Safe Jack and they responded saying they wouldn’t "recommend" using the 4runner jack method. But they never said it wouldn’t work.:fingerscrossed:

I’ll probably end up going this route.:)

    Thanks for the helpful replies.

I have 2 4Runners jacks and the Safe Jack parts.

The few times I've used them, all worked just fine.

I'm guessing Safe Jack doesn't recommend it for liability reasons.
