Still holding up and protecting from rust. Quality of spray paints have came a long way

The bottom pic is when it hasn't been washed for a few months. Can barley tell with this texture paint

Target is cheapest online I could find unless you buy bulk on Amazon.
Just be sure to sand really good before painting.
I did 2 coats that took about 6 cans each.
12 cans total (this includes the bed. I'd say about 10 cans if you skip the bed).

Awesome! I should do my brand new Rav4. Cover up that pretty Lunar Rock paint job!
Actually, I'd be inclined to rattlecan the shit out of it with Plasti-Dip! That stuff is just too fun.:D

My brother did the same thing to his 90 Ranger and then wet sanded it.
I expected to see a mess, but it wasn't that bad. I'll stick to an air compressor and a paint gun.

For sure. If you have the spray gun and garage, thats the best way to go.
This was just a cheap, 2 step paint job that anyone can do.

Years ago I worked with an odd fellow who painted his car with a brush & roller. He did very good prep work and a good job of masking and taping. The color was about like Toyota Quicksand. It turned out surprisingly well, from 10 feet you didn't notice anything odd. He did the entire job outside in the parking lot of his apartment.

There's is a lot prep and work that goes into the Rustoleum paint job.

Here the link from the Rustoleum paint job pictures I posted from Meguiars Online.

I didn't expect your truck to look that good after reading the thread title! Nice work, all about that prep work. I've done a few the same way on winter beater cars
