    Hi all,

I'm glad to join this forum with other obviously high class individuals who drive such an esteemed truck. Anyways, to make a long story short, I bracket race my truck and would like to be able to cool it more efficiently between rounds. Is there a way to activate the cooling fans with the ignition off?

If your Taco has electric fans, yes.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

I wasn't aware of the Tacoma coming with an electric fan unless the TSB for air conditioning had been applied.

You can add any kind of fan you want along with a fuses, relay and switch. Be aware cooling fans pull quite a bit of power so this will be hard on the starting battery.

If the truck is off, running a fan will just cool the radiator, and not circulate any coolant through the block.

Have you tried letting it idle to cool down? I know race engines will heat up a lot, but a regular car should cool down at idle, with cold air coming through the radiator, cold air through the engine, and very little gas burning. I'll sit idle for a few minutes after a long climb off-road, and both the engine and trans temps come down (if I shut the truck off, they actually appear to increase after a few minutes).

If you really want to do this, you'd need an electric fan and some kind of inline aux water pump (electric) like German cars have
