I have a 2016 Tacoma double cab that I just got Raptor OEM running boards for. I am very short and the running boards are still to high for me to comfortably step up. These attach to the rocker panel so is there any kind of an extension bracket that will lower them down about 4-6 inches.

I personally don’t know of any and too lazy to attempt to google ‘raptor oem running board extensions’. I do know that you can have longer extensions fabricated for a price. Check machine shops/fab shops local to your area to see if they can help.

No disrespect but you must be less than 4’7” tall. I have a 2019 trd off road and my youngest daughter gets in and out no problem.

Post a quick video of you getting in the truck, just so we have a reference to help. Then, just for laughs, post another video of you hanging from the tailgate.

I have not seen lower height running boards. But there are other options, as some nerf bars have individual steps that are noticeably lower than running boards.

Here's one example (made by Nfab):

20190829_112614.jpg Very funny guys. I am very short but I also have knee issues so I can't step up very high and this truck seems to be higher than my 99 was. I had to sell my 99 extra cab because I could no longer do the clutch (knee) but went 6 months with a car and decided I missed my truck too much. I might see if I can find someone to fabricate an extension because I can't afford to keep buying different ones to try.

Another option is power running boards. I have the AMP Research power steps on my Tundra, and they're fantastic. They drop WAY down, then lift up and out of the way after you shut the door.

My Mom has a dodgy hip and knee issues from an accident a few years ago and she likes my truck's predator tube steps. She is pretty short and she has to use handles plus the step to hoist herself up. She does pretty good for a 73 year old. I'm adding in some extra grab handles on the seats for her which will help out. The predators aren't the best for off road but as long as I have to take my Mom places I will probably stick with them. I wonder if there is a way to mount the bed step to the side of the truck? That could be an option but I don't think it will be inexpensive.

There are some step options here that might be an option if you can use them with your current running boards.

My wife finds the steps to be too close to the truck to really help getting in. The get in the way of me getting out. The truck came with Predator Tube Steps.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I just picked up a pair of Tacoma Predator bars from a new (7200 miles) totaled Tacoma in a pull yard. I don't much care for the steps that hang down but my "height challenged" 4' 11" wife requested them. I'll have to see if they work out or end up being listed on CL.

Are you like 4 ft tall? My ol lady is about 5’1 and gets in all the doors no problem. With rockslides at a 20 degree.

No I am 5' but have bad knees so can't bend them for a higher step-up. The angle on this picture doesn't really show how high these running boards are.

My mom is 69 with both knees replaced and a bad hip. She has some decent mobility issues. Takes a bit but she can get into the tacoma with the predator steps which are the ones that someone showed on the white taco that has the side bar then a step that is fixed lower. She uses the grab handle.. which unfortunately is only on the passenger's side. My mom claims to be 5'3" but I think she's shorter. She also walks with a limp because of the limited mobility.
