Hey, I just picked up my 2020- trd pro and was wondering what is a good running board to get. I am new to the truck world and have no idea what to look for... I want it for 2 reasons- 1 to protect my door from careless get out of car people, and a little step to make it easier to hop in and out. I dont want to constantly kick painted area.

When I search running boards on the search a lot of conversational threads comes up... so I need some help here.

sliders are what you're looking for since you want something that protrudes past the body

I would not recommend getting powder coated sliders, you have a TRD Pro, if you wheel it, you are gonna hit your sliders eventually (Thats why you got em). Get bare metal and rattle can paint em. Powder coat looks pretty n all, but you can not touch em up once used.

he wants to prevent doordings at the mall not bashing his rocker offroad

theres no judgement there doordings are annoying (even moreso on a 45k truck id immagine) and preventable with sliders

if the thing they (sliders) protect (rocker pannels) dont get close to to anything that will harm them (rocks, stumps, ledges) whats the point of having them

have you?... running boards dont protect against door dings the past 2 trucks ive had and my moms cruiser had them they've all gotten door dings

sliders are the only things im aware of that protrude past the body and will stop door dings from happening

    this isnt a hard concept

what about this? Think it sticks out just enough to prevent door ding and works as a step. https://www.tygerauto.com/i-1780-ty...black-side-step-nerf-bars-running-boards.html

Re-read all your conflicting post's. You say one thing than another. Still have no clue what the heck you're saying here "have you seen a pro even close to the rocker panel?" Good luck on your search OP.

nothing conflicts all I said was op doesn't wheel and doesn't need the strength of sliders just the fact they protrude to prevent door dings, I simply forgot to type a word carry on

I put these on my truck.

    https://www.amazon.com/APS-Molded-R...tacoma+running+boards&qid=1580834443&sr=8-293

Very simple install. Sticks out past the doors. Helps prevent dings. Won't stop them all but adds some protection. I'm also lifted so that also helps.

The running boards are pretty solid. Very helpful when trying to get the babies in and out of the back. My little ones like it b/c it helps them crawl in and out without falling out and getting hurt now.
