My 2020 VooDoo Blue Limited will arrive tomorrow. It will not be seeing any off-road except for mountain biking. I love the classic look of the boards on my 2005 SR5 Access Cab. I don't like the Cast Al ($975) factory boards. Any recommendations for something close to what I have now? I have been looking at Dee Zee NXt units (black on black). Any thoughts guys/gals? BTW the 05 has 353K miles, running like a top.

    Thanks All

All I can say is there are a lot of options, you can go to 4 different websites and each one might have some options that the others don’t have

Stevo: What brand and where did you get your 05 Access running boards? I desperately need some for my 06 and I like the ones depicted on yours.

I have the cast aluminum ones on my truck.

If you like the ones on your access cab, you can get a set to put on the new truck. The mounts are the same between the second and third gen.

ItWks4Me, The running boards on the 05 are original factory, hard plastic type shell over steel, they have held up well, made it through the frame changeout OK. I did finally go with DeeZee Units. https://realtruck.com/p/dee-zee-nxt-truck-running-boards-black-board-with-black-trim/. Very happy with them, Powercoat with pressed in rubber grip ovals. Easy to install and the cost was $375? I don't know if the original 05 boards are still available from Toyota.

I was able to buy like new 2nd Gen Toyota brand running boards on Facebook Marketplace for $175. They had been stored in a guy's garage since 2012. They still had various Toyota stickers on them. Toyota running boards do turn up on Craigslist and Facebook fairly often. The 2nd Gens fit the 3rd Gens.
