I picked up a pair of OEM running boards for $100 on Facebook, but they didn't come with any hardware. Talked to my local Toyota dealer and the parts guy said there was not a separate hardware kit for them.

I grabbed a mix and match of 10.9/8.8 grade M8x30mm bolts, lock washers, and fender washers for now. Is there an OEM Hardware kit? I've got 316 Stainless hardware picked out on McMaster but not sure if that's better than the zinc coated 10.9/8.8 stuff. I live in a very salty area (Iowa) so I don't want horrible galvanic corrosion to creep into the bungs if I use the wrong hardware. Thoughts?

I think I saw somewhere on here that torque spec was 14.4ft/lbs. Does the OEM hardware have preapplied threadlocker?

    Thanks everyone!

Hum, they don't look like OEM running boards I've seen.

SS is normally better than zinc or galvanized especially if it is a salty area. yes there is thread locker (blue). just use a wrench and makesure they are tight.

Yes they are OEM.I have seen them on a few Tacoma 3rd gen and was going to purchase them. I got a set of Predators because they were cheap OEM takeoffs. But yes they are identical to the ones I almost got from my local dealer. Google Tacoma aluminum running boars and see the pictures and part numbers match.

Yeah I think I'll go with the 316 hardware. I'd need to pick up one of the Loctite sticks to try out. Then fluid film everything.

Sounds like your parts guys doesn't know what he's talking about, the part number for the hardware kit is: PT76735160HK

Basically for all Toyota steps/running board/side bars the mounting hardware part number is the step part number + HK after it.

Looks like the the hardware kit has a retail price about $41... but you could probably get it for less with an online Toyota parts discount website. I would just go back to the dealer and have them price match the lower website price.

Sorry for the bump. I bought this same set second-hand. Do you guys see any reason why they wouldn't fit a 2021 double cab? Mounting should be the same for all 3rd gen double cabs from what I can tell. I just don't think all the websites have updated for the new year yet.

    Thanks!

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
High strength bolts for this application is an entire WASTE of good steel. The OEM kit certainly does not use grade 8.8 or higher.

Never-Seeze is your friend on the corrosion front. Get some! ! " Where ever fine auto parts are sold", .....Just don't get it on your good shirt.
