I'm gonna be going on a trip for a few days and was wondering if anyone has run appliances off the bed outlet, or seeing if the battery is capable of running a CPAP machine each night without dying for a few nights?

    Thanks in advance.

The bed outlet is not powered unless the truck is running. You're going to waste a bunch of gas doing this.

There are a LOT of threads on here about people figuring out how to run their CPAP machines off their truck battery, second battery, portable power station (like Jackery/Goal Zero), and more. Just do a search.

Do you have the option of a 12v CPAP? Only reason I suggest this is because there will always be some loss running an inverter; you'll get more bang for the buck if you can go straight 12v. This goes for things like electronic chargers. It will never be as efficient converting DC to AC and then back to DC again.

You don’t need to. They will run off either, well most will. They make a simple DC adapter. This is how I run mine in our tiny camper.
OP a DC adapter and a good jump box will work for a couple of nights if you run only the CPAP with no heat or water.
If this is something you want to do regularly I’d suggest an auxillary battery and a suitcase solar you can recharge it with.

A regular 12v car battery will run a cpap for 5 to 7 days 8 hours a night. If you use a heated humidifier that will reduce the amount of time the battery will last. You can buy an adapter so you can run the cpap directly from the battery terminals or plug it into a cigarette lighter. Your best bet is to get a separate battery so you don’t run your car battery down. Each adapter is made for a specific cpap brand and model. If you have other questions let me know.
As others have said the bed outlet only works when the engine is running.

That's my old DeVilbis CPAP hung from the ridgeline in there with me. An old battery jumper that uses a 33amp/hour battery would power it (without water or heat) for three nights, no problem. It was a power miser. My new AirSense 10 is going to be a problem. Specs say it pulls 3 amps? Not sure how that's going to work. Add in the heated tube shown and I'm going to need a lot of battery. Even with the heated tube when it gets down below freezing I have to connect an additional 6-foot hose and run it down into the sleeping bag so the warmth contained in there will help heat the air. How's the AirSense 10 gonna' work? News at 10...

The Airsense 10 is 24v DC, you can buy a converter for it that steps 12v DC up to 24v DC so that you don't have to use an inverter and go 12v DC to 120v AC to 24v DC. 12V DC would be much better and some of the newer machines are 12v but using the battery adapter works better than an inverter. Also swap on a block off plate (so no water reservoir) and cut the heater and hose heater off. It saves a lot of power plus you don't have to worry about the dreaded rainstorm. A fleece cover for the hose will help a bit.

I use a Jackery with the 12v Car adapter. Works great and lasts more than 2 nights without needing a charge.

I have an Airsense 10. I got the 12v to 24v converter for it, and on a recent camping trip, got three 7-8 hour nights on a jump battery, with humidifacation turned off. (The larger jump-start battery, not the newer "pocket sized" jump starter.) Still had some juice in the battery. The adapter is expensive, though, around $90 as I recall.

This is the adapter I bought and it works good. A lot cheaper than the Resmed brand.

I think that's one I have as well. The battery pack Resmed wants to sell you is like $300 and doesn't last as long as a marine battery, of course it's not as big or nearly as heavy either but I already had a marine for a house (truck camping) battery and trolling motor; it died this past winter and I still need to replace it but I can sleep without the cpap.
